Hi Whitney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My mother and I have been in the wedding industry since 2016 as wedding decorators. This started with my mother decorating my wedding to assist with costs, which ultimately unlocked a raw talent of hers. Since then, we have collaborated on weddings and other events. We have always had our eyes set on owning a wedding venue. That came true May of last year.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, as we have faced many challenges along the way. When we acquired the property, there was a lot of maintenance work that needed to be done, and we spent a great deal of time and money transforming the venue into what it is today. We also faced challenges with getting in front of our ideal clients. Determining which marketing strategies would be most beneficial and give the best ROI has been a space we are learning to navigate.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Ivy on the Plains. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Ivy on the Plains is a secluded luxury wedding and event venue that sprawls across 36 acres.
