Today we’d like to introduce you to Cedric Moore.
Hi Cedric, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Eight 4 Productions initially started as a means to an end. I was an Independent R&B artist in need of a recording studio to complete some songs I had written and created to be released as an album. After a great deal of research and realizing how expensive studio time was, I vowed to learn recording/mixing & mastering to do the work myself. I began down the path of learning the art and science of each. I also found a mentor (Eddie Stokes) who helped me fast-track my skills to a professional level. Along the way, I met other Independent Artists in need of the same services and resources. From that point on, I began recording, mixing, and mastering for myself and others. I built a studio in my home (from the desk to the acoustic treatment) and began taking on projects with like-minded artists. Things grew from there. Today, I work with a number of extremely talented Artists (Mattie B, King Dreeski, Carbon Clef, Kado Dupré, King Elway, and others). I provide high-quality services at reasonable prices. The results speak for themselves, and Artists Walk away with a product they can be proud of.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t! But nothing worth having is easy! Some of the struggles have been learning (technical skills) and “not knowing what you don’t know.” I initially learned to record and mix to save money, but once I started doing my research and learning more about the balance of art and science that is audio engineering, I knew I found something I was passionate about. Unfortunately, my early recordings and mixes weren’t great! It took some long nights and years of working on my craft to get the sound to a professional level. I utilized every resource I could get my hands on to learn anything to improve my skill set! After releasing a single, an artist I knew messaged me asking about studio time and mixing. I knew nothing about running a studio or what to charge. I took my first session and made $50 that night. That started me down the path of getting my LLC, setting up my business, and learning how to get new clients! From there, I’ve been blessed to work with some dope artists and have recorded, mixed, and mastered some amazing music! The struggles are real, but working to master my craft has helped me provide high-quality work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
To my family, thank you for all the support and putting up with the noise. I love y’all!
Big shot out to Eddie Stokes! He’s been a mentor throughout my audio engineer journey. He was pivotal in me taking my craft seriously and gives constant advice on how to get better. A dope Engineer in his own right. Salute brotha!
To all my clients, thank you for trusting me with your art. I appreciate all of you! I hope that every release makes you just as proud as the last! Looking forward to the next one!
Special salute to Mattie B, Kado Dupre, Carbon Clef, King Elway, and King Dreeski! I’ve enjoyed the sessions, collaborations, and dope music! Keep creating and being the amazing people you are!
