Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawana Williams.
Tawana was born without arms and impaired use of her legs due to the drug Thalidomide that was given to her mother during pregnancy. She has a powerful and uplifting message for all generations. Her compelling story is one of triumph, perseverance and determination. Tawana has overcome many obstacles; she was gang raped during a home invasion, raped by her step father, addicted to crack and cocaine for 10 years; she’s also experienced abortion, motherhood, a stroke, and a mild heart attack; she’s never let her challenges or disability stop her. Tawana has many gifts and accomplishments. She’s an author, artist, advocate, TV Personality, businesswoman, Executive Producer, vocalist, mentor, wife, mother, Humanitarian and CEO of Tawana Williams Outreach, Inc. She became a professional speaker in 1996. Tawana is the Author of six books, including her classic book “UNarmed But Dangerous” The Tawana Williams story; this is her testimony which will be featured as her Debut Movie “Eagle without Wings” in Theaters coming soon. She became a professional speaker in 1996 and travels the country with her husband ‘Toby’ speaking at Schools, Churches, Day Cares, Youth Programs, Boys & Girls Clubs, Nursing Homes, Prisons, Drug Rehab Centers, Veterans Associations, Universities, Colleges, Fraternities, Sororities, Corporations & Organizations. Tawana’s Mission is to give Hope & Inspiration to those facing adversities and challenges while teaching them how to cope in any situation.
Tawana was a guest on The Jerry Springer Show sharing her story of (Beating the Odds.) The Judge Hatchett Show as a Mentor to a troubled teen. The WORD Network, Manna Express TV, TCT-Alive, TCT-Rejoice, TCT-Ask The Pastor, TCT-Triangle Alive, Atlanta Live, Lifetime TV, The 700 Club/CBN, TBN Network, “Your World” with Creflo Dollar and many other regional & national programs. She’s had phone interviews twice with Oprah’s Producers. In 2007 Tawana and her husband Toby were featured in Homes of Color Magazine, Hope for Women Magazine and Epitome Magazine. Tawana produced her own Radio Show that was syndicated in more than a million households in Memphis and Nashville, Tenn. In March 2008 she was the recipient of The True Servant Award from the Agape Gospel Academy Awards Ceremony. Tawana has countless Awards, Accolades, Appearances, Certificates and Newspaper articles. She’s the former Spokesperson for The Agape Gospel Academy in Atlanta, Georgia from (2008-2011.)
Today, Tawana is “The Hope Coach” and she’s teaching others how to live a life with “No More Excuses.” Her dreams are to Produce and Host her own TV Talk Show, Produce her Motivational Reality Show, Executive Produce her Documentary & Co-Produce her Debut Movie “Eagle Without Wings.” Tawana is an internationally known Les Brown Platinum Motivational Speaker and resides in Wilson, North Carolina with her husband ‘Toby.’
Has it been a smooth road?
No it wasn’t easy, some of my challenges were the lack of money. Many times people would promise to pay me and at the end of the service/engagement they didn’t…I can remember the time we drove 500 miles and they gave us $50 and said “we love you & God’s going to bless you.” In my heart I knew God was going to bless what we were doing & He did! Yes, we’ve been traveling this country for 21 years and 9-1/2 of those years we did it for free…But look at us now!

The Mission is to give Hope, Help and Inspiration to those facing adversities, challenges and hardships while positively impacting and empowering the lives of all people around the globe. The Outreach is a Mobile Outreach. We are based in Wilson, NC and travel wherever we’re asked to come Because I was born without arms & impaired use of my legs, I teach systems, life changing strategies, practical methods and prosperity principals that help others achieve their highest potentials in life, no matter their race, age, gender, religion, disability, background or financial circumstances. I am “The Hope Coach” because I’m giving Hope to the masses one person at a time. I’m so grateful that I didn’t quit and yes, I could’ve created a million in one legitimate excuses but “Excuses don’t hide they just reveal who you really are” and that’s not who I am and that’s why I’m “UNarmed But Dangerous!” My life changing story sets me apart from other speakers because I meet people right where they are in life and we build them up from there!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes the Atlanta area is one of my favorite cities and I’ve seen the growth, the passion and the people of Atlanta move higher & higher within the last 10 years. I think the city of Atlanta is an awesome place to be, we visit at least 2-3 times a year sometimes more.
