Meet ROS

Today we’d like to introduce you to ROS.

ROS

Hi ROS, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Sure! The story about our shop is essentially based on opportunity. I originally launched Celeb DJ Graphics in 2010 because so many fellow DJs were constantly asking me who was creating the images I had for my flyers and releases.

It happened so often that I approached the designer I was working with at the time & told him that, with my network of DJs globally and his skillet, we could have something pretty dope if we launched a shop that was specifically dedicated to helping DJs’ brand themselves properly to grow their businesses.

Hence, Celeb DJ Graphics was born.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Um… yes & no. However, the “non” part of that answer taught me something.

I regards to success, once we launched with an official name and marketing, the business was instant. The DJs would have the initial concept consultation with me. Then, I’d bring in my designer to execute the job. That took off from the jump & ran smoothly for a good while.

The issue we ran into at that time was that I was also touring heavily during this period. Much of it internationally, so making time to solicit new business and take sales meetings was fleeting. We soon became victims of my personal & our business success.

This led to my making the tough decision to shutter the initial incarnation of the shop in 2013.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I don’t have an official title or lane at this point in my life. By definition, I am a CREATIVE.

I DJ events & tours. I am a recording artist, producer, and songwriter. I design clothing. I am a visual, mixed-media artist. I am an author. I am a public speaker. I am a DJ branding coach. And… I am an entrepreneur who founded and owns one of the game’s leading DJ branding firms.

What that shows is I am no longer going on “what I’m known for.” I am navigating life on “what I’m into.”

My A-alikes are Virgil Abloh (RIP), The old Kanye, Pharrell, Mark Ronson, My OGs Quincy Jones & Russell Simmons, Ryan Leslie, and Will I Am.

These are my prototypes in regards to what is possible when a multi-disciplinary artist takes the shackles & expectations off… of themselves.

I am free. That is what sets me apart from EVERYONE.

What are your plans for the future?
Right now, I just want to continue to create & grow as an artist and entrepreneur. However, If I could design my life to my tailored vision, it would look like so:

Multi-format auteur, founder of art installations in various cities, releasing constant new music on my boutique record label (Def Alien Recordings), launching at least 3 of my clothing brand concepts successfully, getting back on the touring scene as an artist, releasing a short film based on a few of the records from my ‘SUPERHERO” project, writing and producing for other artists, living in the studio, and releasing my 3 completed book concepts.
