Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Shockey.
Hi Lindsay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Currently, I am the Director of Interiors Design for Dynamik Interiors, and we started the studio in March of 2021. A former client of mine recommended me for the position, and it was an opportunity to come back to the multifamily and hospitality design world. I am also the president-elect for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Georgia chapter, poised to take the role of president for the 2024-2025 year. This is a tremendous opportunity to at the forefront of the design community in the city of Atlanta. My goal is for this year to be a year of service gather individuals for various community projects and to see how we can better serve the design world. I am also a former Mrs. USA Earth Fire 2023 and the current USoA Mrs. Tennessee for 2024, set to compete for the national title this summer. A mom of a spirited two-year-old and the wife of one of Atlanta’s finest.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If it were easy, everyone would do it, right? Starting a new studio for a young architecture firm has had its fair share of bumps along the way. Finding designers, developing relationships with clients, and getting projects completed are just some of the small obstacles we have tackled. We have not sidestepped the obvious struggles that come with being a new company, but over the last three years, we have made a mark for ourselves in the Atlanta area and outlying cities.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a multi-family, student housing, and hospitality design and architecture firm. You may have seen our signs on a few construction sites around the greater Atlanta area. We are small but mighty and creative! I am so proud of my team and the amazing work we are putting out these days. It will be exciting to see how the projects just over the last year will finish out. We are a full-service design firm that will design, select, and install every part of the project from start to finish.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
The food! It is such a foodie town, even outside the perimeter. All of the new restaurants and places to go I feel represent the city so well. Least, the traffic! Takes forever to get anywhere.
