Today we’d like to introduce you to Chartney Blair.
Hi Chartney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
It started in my home state of Michigan; I would care for family members, and it was second nature to me. So, I went to my local college and enrolled in a nursing assistant program. I worked as a nursing assistant for over three years and loved it. Still, I wanted to continue challenging myself with new goals, so I enrolled in a nursing program. Fast forward, I moved down to Georgia and noticed one common theme in various positions I had worked. No one wanted to live in a facility, no matter how excellent the facility was or how many amenities were offered. There is no place like home. I noticed that finding quality home health care was a challenge for family members. This was the birth of Blair Care LLC. A lot of home health agencies are run by owners without healthcare experience. I knew I could bring something special because I had, at that point, been in the healthcare field for over a decade. Before launching Blair Care, I pulled from my personal training as a healthcare provider and spent months researching home health agencies, focusing on the parts that needed improvement. After launching Blair Care, the support was amazing. Our clients speak highly of us because we emphasize providing quality and compassionate care to our clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been anything but smooth. Entrepreneurship has many obstacles every day, which is why I chose my entrepreneurial journey in home health; it’s something that I’m passionate about. Walking in my purpose and serving my community has always been my goal. One struggle I felt in the beginning was delegation. Starting a business, you have to play multiple roles, but to grow, you need a team. Building a competent and trusting team has been the key to growing Blair Care LLC.
We’ve been impressed with Blair Care LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Blair Care LLC is a full-service home care agency licensed by the Georgia Department of Community Health. We specialize in serving the senior community and individuals with disabilities while being in the safe space of their homes. We serve clients in Gwinnett, DeKalb, Forsyth, Henry, Douglasville, Rockdale, Newton, Fulton, and Cobb counties. Our skilled and trained staff can assist with companionship, light housekeeping, meal prepping, mobility assistance, and so much more.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Now that I can look back as an adult, one of my favorite childhood memories was the early mornings spent helping my grandmothers in their gardens. As a kid, I never wanted to get up early, especially on summer break, but the type of discipline and work ethic instilled in me I still use today.
