Inspiring Conversations with Chris Royster of IMTM Worldwide Images

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Royster.

Chris Royster

Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My true start began with me sitting in Lenox Mall in Atlanta years ago. I observed people walking by, and I saw many that I felt had some type of talent but probably not pursuing it because of lack of motivation, lack of belief in themselves, or apprehension in getting into the entertainment industry. I decided to try to take my management experience in the secular world and apply it to entertainment, specifically modeling. I specialized in aspiring talent, those that have never had an accomplishment before. I also helped actors and musicians. I was able to aid many to appear in magazines, fashion shows, music videos, and other projects. Eventually, after much contemplation, I decided to leave management because I wanted to pursue my own goals. With time behind the scenes of several photoshoots, sometimes as creative director, photography was my next endeavor. Helping people tell their stories has been fulfilling, and I hope to assist people locally, regionally, and even nationally. My biggest accomplishment to date is being hired by a nationally known brand to provide images for their staff. I hope that people give me a chance, that’s it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is ever easy. My biggest challenge is having individuals in different cities wanting to hire me, but only one. It is not economical for me to travel for one client as I do not charge expensive rates. So, traveling from Georgia to Iowa for one photoshoot isn’t possible.

We’ve been impressed with IMTM Worldwide Images, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company caters to those that are looking to get images for the very first time or those that have very old photos, and it’s time to update. So those that are pursuing modeling, acting, music are my initial targets in business. But I also help businesses that need headshots for employees, those that need headshots for graduations, families that want portraits, and more. I am great at helping those that have never had a photoshoot before, especially in crafting the actual look of the photoshoot. To date, I’d say being hired by a well-known brand after they saw my work was my biggest moment. I didn’t even talk to them on the phone, they told me what they needed, asked my price, and they paid it. I’d like readers to know if they hire me, they’re doing so because they like my work, and if they give me a chance to operate, they will get the results they need. Also, I am not expensive yet.

What are your plans for the future?
There is still part of me that wants to create a calendar using models I’ve worked with in the past. But other than that, I hope to create a state-to-state tour on a yearly basis. I also have a radio platform called IMTM Worldwide Radio that I’m looking to expand this year.
