So, here’s the story: In late 2020, right smack in the middle of the pandemic, Chef Woody and I found ourselves without a job when our beloved Thai and sushi restaurant in Town Brookhaven shut down. But instead of wallowing in despair, we decided to take matters into our own hands and start our own business. With the help of my amazing family, we embarked on a mission to find the perfect location for our new venture. We had one condition – it had to be a space with a good size and a beautiful patio area. And guess what? Luck was on our side because we stumbled upon this gem of a place. It took us months of hard work and dedication to transform it into the restaurant of our dreams. And finally, on January 16, 2021, we flung open our doors and confidently started serving our customers with passion and pride. It’s been an incredible journey, and I have no doubt that we’re destined for success.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Running our own restaurant business was definitely a bit chaotic at the start, but thanks to Chef Woody’s extensive experience in operating kitchens, we navigated through it all with ease. His years of expertise, particularly from living in Thailand, have made a significant difference in our success. From managing the kitchen to delivering exceptional flavors, Chef Woody’s confidence and skills have brought our restaurant to new heights. I have the incredible opportunity to spend time with my beloved aunt and uncle, who have cared for me since I was just a little child. I vividly recall a time when my aunt embarked on an exciting journey and opened her very own restaurant. I would wake up early in the morning and accompany her to the bustling market, eager to assist in any way I could. Returning home, I would lend a hand in the preparations before the restaurant doors swung open for the day. Though I was young, and my contributions were limited, those moments were filled with joy and camaraderie. Looking back, I realize that these experiences may have planted the seed of inspiration within me, igniting a passion to one day venture into the realm of owning my own restaurant. The memories we created together serve as a constant reminder of the strength and determination that lies within me.
