Meet Stella Love of Stella Love Non-Profit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stella Love.

Stella Love

Hi Stella, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Stella Love. My name used to be Millicent Branham; however, I changed it for a purpose and my calling. I grew up in a small village outside Accra, Ghana and I am the youngest of 8 siblings. At a young age, I lost both of my parents and constantly faced trials and tribulations. Flashing forward, I am the CEO of Stella Love Non-Profit and StellaLove Publishing. I got into these businesses because I wanted to make a difference in the world. Losing both of my parents, becoming homeless for a period in my life, and being a single mother has not only put me in situations in which I struggled but also allowed me to gain a perspective about the world that some people will not get unless they experience it for themselves. I am most proud of the nonprofit, Stella Love Non-Profit, whose mission is to provide aid to those who are facing serious issues in today’s world such as single parents, the homeless, children, and low-income families. At Stella Love Non-Profit, we hope to impact more lives by alleviating burdens whether that is with food, financial assistance, or simply having a conversation with them about the things they are going through.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was definitely not a smooth road. I went through multiple financial struggles along the way. Sometimes it got so severe, I was threatened with eviction a few times. I had to receive help from charity organizations as well as from friends. It was a very long process trying to get my non-profit started as well. Several legal processes were required that took a long time to complete and circumstances kept appearing that needed documents that I had not received yet. It was a hassle trying to keep everything organized. Sometimes I felt unmotivated and questioned whether I should keep going and if this was my calling but in the end, God always gives me the strength to keep going.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Stella Love Non-Profit is a Georgia-based non-profit organization that began in March 2021, at first, we started by distributing hot & ready meals to the homeless in downtown Atlanta. We have grown to provide services to single-parent households, low-income families, children, youth, and many more individuals who require assistance in their daily lives to get by. We are proud of the progress we have made in our ability to consistently provide not only necessary resources but also help to our clients—we hope that, they can depend on us to keep them up when life attempts to push them down. Some of our current services to our clients, include grocery assistance, clothing assistance, holiday giveaways (i.e., Thanksgiving Giveaway, Breakfast with Santa, Back to School), weekly bread & sandwich distributions, Feed the Homeless, Free Food Distribution, and Family Aid. If you are interested in becoming involved with Stella Love, there are multiple ways you can help. You can volunteer your time! We have plenty of opportunities for students, adults, community service hour recipients, and more. We are always looking for people to help out in more ways than one. Another way is to donate! No donation is too small, every amount counts and contributes towards a greater cause that benefits all.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Unfortunately, I do not have a favorite childhood memory; however, my current favorite memory is the birth of my son. I am blessed to have such an amazing and wonderful son. He is amazing, smart, and humble, and he is my best friend. God has truly been amazing in blessing me. I could not have asked for a great blessing.
