Hi Ronika, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My background always been a passion for making people feel and look and feel their best. I have been a master cosmetologist for 18 years. I was burned out of styling hair, however I still wanted to be in the industry I just didn’t know what else was next. The pandemic had a lot of people trying to figure out our new normal. I was indeed looking for a new job. I found this waxing salon on indeed. I didn’t have much experience in body waxing only facial waxing. The owner was willing to train me and I was eager to learn and that’s when my joinery with waxing begun.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I worked at the waxing salon for about a year and a few months. I had a plan once I became really good at waxing. My ultimate goal was to woke my own once I realized the potential in the waxing business. I was laser focused on starting my own. I would come to work with my little note pad taking notes every day on what I need to start my business. I was visualizing and mapping out my plans. I eventually started my business on the side while I was still working. It was time for me to grow and I took the leap of faith. It was very scary especially when being a single mother of three. I was scared but I just jumped. I took a chance on me finally. I just jumped head first. It has definitely been a Journey and the sacrifice I made so we could have a better life. No it’s not easy but worth it. Once I took that leap of faith God sent people a long my joinery to help me along the way. I had a friend who came to visit after I expanded and said people are going to give you stuff. She was right. I just tried God on this journey because it was one. It was many times we went without. I was on a wing and Prayer. It was times when some friends would tell me to get a job. I always had a job and did what I love on the side. I just put 100 percent in my business and my craft. The journey is not easy, but it’s worth it.
