Today we’d like to introduce you to D’Angelo Amori
Hi D’Angelo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I love this question because the humble beginnings are REAL! I started creating and exploring in my mom’s basement from fashion to artistry, photography, and education. I remember vividly growing up during summer breaks “playing” school with my siblings and cousin, directing choreography, sewing, and constantly researching various areas to express creativity. During my childhood, I found much inspiration from my mom who provided to the best of her ability as a single mother! While creatively, inspiration came from watching popular networks like BET, VH1, E!, and MTV and the environment around me!
As I transitioned into adulthood I found myself networking with everyone around me from my jobs, friends of friends, social media, and enrolling in many courses. I began to invest in myself with courses and continued my collegiate education in business management at the University of West Georgia. Education is key and like a sponge, I learned much from people’s actions, words, and behavior around me. Ultimately, landing me in the room with top educators, influencers, authors, motivational speakers, and millionaires! Which I find very inspiring!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No journey is smooth or easy, but once you begin to operate out of purpose I learned that it becomes worth it! I’ve endured much hardship coming from a single-parent household from an impoverished neighborhood. I spent the majority of my high school years working a job while learning to navigate through the world as a black man. I lost many male figures and friends to death or incarceration. Losing the majority of my uncles (my mom’s brothers) by my early 20s and as my mom’s only son those unforeseen incidents affected me a lot mentally, but I knew I had to operate my life differently to be the change I wanted us to experience. Without a test, there’s no testimony and with the inspiration of my nephews, I continue to strive to change the narrative for black men around me where I’m from!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am the ultimate craftsman, turning nothing into something! Navigating through my 20s I used much of my time learning with no limit! I like the quote, “jack of all trades, but master of none!” New terms and titles are constantly developing for me but for now, call me the victor on the rise! I have a bunch of new projects and content on the way from my personal brand and fashion brand Amori Angels! So I am calling all support to the forefront along this journey!
I’m most proud of participating in and orchestrating 3 Fashion shows and 3 Entrepreneur showcases that have jump-started many other designers, models, creators, and business owners leading to much networking. I am always happy to help others grow and develop their business concepts and work with upcoming future business leaders.
My faith has always set me apart allowing me to see what others see as a challenge or impossible, instead allowing me to observe and take the opportunity! I believe that is what sets me apart from others because it takes a lot of faith without recommendation to work with people upcoming but simply navigate this world. The work quality isn’t there yet, the business drive hasn’t set in, and exploring different possibilities of failure is real, meanwhile trusting God with the vision allows things to work out for me accordingly.
How do you define success?
Success to me is defined and broken into categories of happiness, abundance, and prosperity! Society tells people to choose one or the other but God tells me I can have them all and more. Success comes with stability, financial freedom, peace of mind, solidarity, and stewardship! So the goal is to allow your purpose to align with positive results that contribute to not just a current generation but the future generation, whether you live to see it or not! Once you can experience and obtain the big 3 you are indeed the ultimate succesor!
