Today we’d like to introduce you to Shana Hinton
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi my name is Shana Hinton and I was born and raised on the southside of Chicago. My friends and family call me a “Renaissance Woman”. It all started from a simple hair service when I was younger. At the age of 13 I became an entrepreneur. I started a hair business and began doing family and friends hairstyles for $5.00 a head…lol. I eventually became really good and popular and I opened up a hair salon at the age of 27yrs old. Being a stylist taught me a lot of valuable life lessons like how to work with people (customer service), punctuality, money management, and how to run a business. While being a hairstylist I went to school to become a tax preparer where I became skilled and started my tax business at the age of 24…. I’ve always loved numbers so I went back to school to get my accounting to assist me with handling the financial aspect of my tax return business…I’ve always had a drive to be the best because life growing up was challenging because I came from a very poor family. I have always been ambitious and now I have a total of 5 licenses they are:
Cosmetologist
Cosmetology Instructor
Real Estate Broker
Health & Life Insurance agent
Tax Preparer
1 Associate Accounting Degree
I am forever grateful for this journey of life I have been on and I am looking forward to doing more to help the communities I can help and make a difference
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I struggle with transition when I moved to Atlanta … getting to know the city and building my clientele in the Georgia area but I’m a Realtor so I drive back and forth

So my Hair World Salon 2 LLC business I perform hair services specializing in all kind of styles from Quickweaves to Natural hair, Dreadslocks, Extensions,Gair coloring Braids and more
I also sell human hair, wigs, bundles, closures
At my TaxWorld Accountanting & Financial service I actually perform bookkeeping Services LLC I do bookkeeping for a small company as well as process individual tax return and company tax returns during the tax season.
I am also a realtor I show people houses, land, new constructions and get people special financing and grants for first time homebuyers. I also provide mortgage protection to homeowners
My latest license which is a health and life insurance agent I provide Health Insurance and Life Insurance to clients
What matters most to you?
What matters to me the most is family. I am also a fair non-judgmental person. I am down to earth and what matters to most in life to me is that people be kind helpful to one another, honest, loyal and be themselves.I am a big believer of giving advice and helping people to try to get ahead. when I was young my parents did not know much But I want to teach my children and other people things that I’ve learned in life that have allowed me to get ahead of the game.
