Hidden Gems: Meet Adrienne Strickland of Astrick Therapy Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Strickland

Hi Adrienne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey in the mental health field began with a deep passion for helping vulnerable populations. I started in the non-profit world, working at a child advocacy center and a sexual assault center. There I wore many hats–providing trainings, conducting forensic interviews, offering therapy, and even giving expert testimony in court. It was incredibly rewarding work, and it taught me the importance of advocacy and comprehensive support for those in need.
From there I transitioned to a private mental health group practice, where I worked intensively with clients and their families who were in crisis. This experience honed my skills in managing high-stakes situations and reinforced my commitment to providing dedicated care.
Eventually, I took the leap to start my own private practice, which has been and exciting and fulfilling adventure. Along the way, I’ve also been navigating the joys and challenges of motherhood with my two little girls, who inspire me every day to continue making a difference in the lives of others. My diverse experiences have shaped me into a versatile and empathetic therapist, and I’m excited to bring that passion and expertise to all individuals in Georgia (focusing but not limited to) Atlanta and the suburbs of Cobb, Cherokee and Fulton counties.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Branching out to start my own practice presented its own set of hurdles, such as establishing a client base, and ensuring financial viability. Additionally, as a mother of two young children, balancing the demands of a growing practice with family responsibilities has required careful juggling and prioritization. Despite these obstacles, each experience has strengthened my dedication to my clients and my passion for making a difference in their lives. Working serves as a creative outlet for me, providing a fulfilling and dynamic space to express my passion and skills outside of my roles as a mom and wife 🙂
