Check Out Deanna Sirlin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Sirlin.

Deanna Sirlin

Hi, Deanna; thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started being an artist as a young child. I remember my first museum visit; I must have been about six years old, and my mother took me to the MoMA in New York City, where I grew up. I remember looking avidly at the paintings of 20th-century artists whose sense of color and composition filled me with great joy. I knew this was a language I wanted to embrace.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has always been a challenging road. My life as an artist is a daily challenge.

Thanks for sharing that. Please tell us a bit more about your work.
My work is focused on color and light. I want the viewer to be in my work, to experience the physicality and saturation of color.

What does success mean to you?
Another day when I can work in the studio
