Meet Lauren Jordan of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Jordan

Hi Lauren, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Artistic endeavors were always in the cards for me — my stereo wonderland is a result of Insatiable Curiosity and a Spirit of Adventure! I can only imagine the number of school teachers who, whilst sitting on a beach with an umbrella drink in hand, chose an early retirement over returning to a classroom full of my weird questions, wild suggestions, and warped sense of humor.

…I mean, Happy Retirement, Mrs. Trelawney. Hope you’re enjoying Key West!

You see, everyone knows the blueprint for becoming a doctor. The Path of the Artist, however, has a lot more twists and turns, and the more independent you are — be it in choice or thought — the more trial and error is required…

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The easiest part about being an Artist is the ART itself. It’s EASY to be inspired! It’s EASY to create magic! It’s EASY to live on Tea and Tex Mex whilst putting the dazzling touches on the arena-rock harmonies and rhythm guitar. PASSION is easy to fuel.

The Challenge is the seemingly-inexhaustible supply of Predators:

As a Solo Female Musician, there’s always SOMEONE waiting in the wings hoping they can convince you to compromise — be it your Standards, Artistry, or Morality — they’re hoping you’ll be desperate enough to settle for less than what your Heart desires.

Fencing with these monsters brings out my inner Clark Griswold: Can I get you something to drink? Get you something to eat? Take you out to the middle of nowhere, leave you there for dead? LOL

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Glam Rock Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist who LOVES to perform loud tunes that bring fairy tale adventures to life! While most of my songs are derived from personal experiences, they also build upon the human desire for MORE…

Did I mention I have a flair for the dramatic?

My music is known for its thick harmonies, powerful backing vocals, screaming guitars, and a vibe that will knock your socks off! Acoustically, the lyrics I write draw pictures of What Is and What Should Be. Electrically, my songs will ignite the fire within, encouraging the pursuit of ALL your dreams. What are we if not Dreamers?

It should also be mentioned that I love for these songs to be accompanied by a rainbow of visuals…

Be it wild ensembles or simple hair bows, I love to entertain in cute outfits that further bring my stories into the 3-D. If my song has 1950’s pop vibes, you’re going to see it in my red lipstick and winged eyeliner. If I’m performing a more gothic set, expect gowns that summon the darkness! My love of fashion, along with the wit and whimsy of my shows, is what makes for a memorable experience…and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

My latest release, “Memory Skips,” pays homage to this love, as well as the artists who have INSPIRED me! It’s a 6-song EP of heart-throbbing Glam Rock-style tunes that tell the story of a princess-to-be who need only see the Magic in herself to transform her Nightmare into a Wonderland.

It’s wild ride that’ll motivate YOU to pursue what YOU truly want!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I have always stood out from the crowd!

While I may have had moments where I wondered if it were a curse, I’ve since grown to realize what an immense BLESSING it truly is. Emulating greatness, at least in the beginning, is a noble pursuit, but after a time, at best, one just becomes a watered-down version of something familiar. Not only does there fail to be PURPOSE in that, but one is easily replaceable.

I embrace my Lone Wolf Nature…it has protected me from those who have sought to turn me into a plain vanilla cupcake.
