Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Pace
Hi Madeline, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been very creative, and as a kid, I loved anything artsy! In college, I discovered Visual Communication Technology, a program that prepares students for successful careers in diverse visual media fields. That is when I became passionate about graphic design and web design. I completed five different internships during my college career, gaining extremely valuable experience!
After college, I worked as a full-time graphic designer in Nashville, TN, and freelanced for small businesses in my spare time. This made me realize that I wanted to help more small businesses with my skills. With lots of support from friends and family, I took the leap and started my own business in 2022.
Small business owners wear a lot of hats, which can be extremely stressful. I love seeing their satisfaction after delivering their projects. Starting my own business has allowed me to combine my strengths: helping people and using my creative skills!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all! It was difficult to get any experience when I was just starting out and trying to land internships or full-time positions. I graduated in May 2020, and nobody was hiring designers because of COVID.
Starting my business in 2022 came with a lot of struggles as well. The first year was the worst! It was a challenge to build up my clientele, and it took a lot of patience. I got rejected a lot or “ghosted” by potential leads, which is just part of the process. However, that can really affect your mindset. Over time, I’ve learned that your mindset is incredibly important!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I help driven business owners bring their design visions to life through distinctive Brand Identity, Web Design, and Graphic Design Services.
I started Creatively Madeline Design Studio to help small businesses who don’t have the time and resources to create the high-end brand presence they’ve been craving. It brings me so much joy to alleviate my client’s stress and help them resonate deeply with their customers. Not only do I produce effective designs for business owners, but I make the process an easy and positive experience!
I am most proud of finding a career path that feels true to myself. I feel fortunate to be able to use my passion for design to help other passionate business owners. I believe what sets me apart is my genuineness. I genuinely enjoy listening to other business owners’ stories and finding the best solutions I can offer. I don’t get pushy or try to upsell potential clients. One of my core values is trust and honesty, and I pride myself on that.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe that success is only possible with risk-taking! If an opportunity presents itself, I take it as a sign that it’s a risk worth pursuing. Starting my business required me to step out of my comfort zone numerous times and take risks, which has allowed me to grow professionally in many ways. While it can feel extremely scary, I believe that anyone who has excelled in any area of their life would say that risk-taking is necessary to pursue your dreams or become a better version of yourself.
