Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Ray
Hi Keith, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well first it started off when I was in high school. I was one of the best in the state of Georgia. I didn’t really get the love as the other players did. I delt with alot of coaches talking down on me and also a lot of people would never admit I was good. So after the ball stopped bouncing I decided to start a sports/ entertainment agency. I wanted to give kids like myself an opportunity to be seen by college coaches and etc. I wanted to be the voice for these kids who don’t know sports is all about who you know & I intend to help as many kids get to the next level then the goal which is becoming a pro. I also did music but never really received the love from that either. So I decided to start my own label as well, which is called HomeTeam Sports/Entertainment agency.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been really rough over the years because not a lot of people accepted me and I’ve always been the one everyone uses.. I’ve always been a person who people never want around. Granted people have done things to me which made me react a certain way, my whole life I was the black sheep.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently a basketball coach at mceachern high school, I also do music and teach there as well. I specialize in training these kids and teaching them the game of basketball. I am most proud of seeing the kids I train become successful. One of the things that sets me apart from others is the simple fact nobody can do what I do, I have face tattoos amd neck tattoos and I have a career in education. A lot of these kids respect me and what I have going on and most of them want to be apart of it.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Hitting the game winner on the GA stars EYBL TEAM for the championship. I played for the B team and we beat the elite team that had numerous of division one talent.
