Today we’d like to introduce you to Darien Pugh
Hi Darien, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Darien “Sincerely Vo” Pugh born (April 23) is an American singer-songwriter.
A rising talent in the music industry, Vo has been credited with song and synch placements including writing records for celebrity artist like TyDolla$ign, Kiana Lede, Hitman Holla, Too Short, Nick Cannon and has collaborated with top industry producers like Troy Taylor, Jay Uncut and more.
Vo first gained notoriety in his hometown, Cincinnati, OH following THE RELEASE OF HIS DEBUT EP “THE LEAK” on soundcloud, december 30, 2015. After attending his very 1st label meeting with rca records in manhattan, ny; Intent on pursuing a career in music, he relocated to Atlanta, GA in 2018 where he was able to establish himself as a professional. Through networking and delivering nothing but hot music when asked, vo hustled his way into some of the top studios in the a & began being invited to songwriting camps with some of the best in the business. In 2021, vo was featured on a single released by NCredible records along side tee grizzley & hitman holla called “control the room”. this song & video led to him also executive producing & co-writing hitman holla’s 11 track freshman album “prove em wrong”.
Not yet signed, with his mysterious persona similar to canadian artist partynextdoor and the weeknd in addition to his genre-bending abilities compared to drake by others, sincerely vo is the full package.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey into music has been colorful and decorated with challenges and obstacles that I believe most creatives face upon entering the industry. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is how to properly navigate the studio space, from in-studio etiquette to negotiating splits.
As I’ve matured in the profession, I’ve grown to understand how to take those instances that would typically cause people to possibly even given up and convert them into positive energy and motivation to continue learning and getting better.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Originally a recording artist, I converted to a songwriter once introduced to the idea in Atlanta, GA.
To me, my speciality is my ability to create customized demo records, in multiple genres, for both male and female artist alike. I also believe that’s what sets me apart from other songwriters.
What I’m most proud of is the fact that I am self-taught in all aspects of my craft and have used my God-given talent to accomplish real success in the music business.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is remaining true to myself throughout my journey. It’s no secret that the music industry isn’t for the faint of heart, and sometimes you find yourself in situations that make you look in the mirror and ask yourself “who am I really?” and with that, it’s extremely important to me that I maintain my own voice, my soul, my heart, and my dignity no matter what’s put in front of me.
My “why” is simple…I have people watching me, and looking up to me! I have to set a good example for those to follow.
