Today we’d like to introduce you to Wayv Active
Hi Wayv, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a start-up activewear line. Our story goes back to two girls meeting at CrossFit and learning that we both wanted to get out of Corporate America. We both have an entrepreneurial spirit that is in constant motion. We started a small event rental company back in 2021, worked that business for a few years, learned a lot, saved all of the money that we made, and invested that into our true passion… the fitness and wellness space. That is where WAYV was born.
We are two girls that are just trying to figure this thing out. Day by day, sale by sale… learning what works for us and what doesn’t. Learning how to shift and focus in on a market that we are truly in-line with. We started in September of 2023 and are still working through selling our first two drops.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not! No successful business has a story of easy success. Let alone a business that is in one of the most saturated markets that there are. We have had manufacturing issues, we have been learning to sell ourselves and create a brand that people feel connected to, we have attended events where we have made $0.00, we have had shipping issues, trademark scares, you name it! And we wouldn’t change anything because those things have all pointed us in the direction of growth.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Outside of WAYV, both Hannah and Jordan are in sales in the healthcare industry. Our passion is learning how to connect people to a product. While we both have success in our outside jobs, we are passionate about making that connection to product happen in our own business. We are known for being the go-getters, the doers, the ones who never stop, the ones who are always striving for more, the adventurers, etc.
We are most proud of what we have learned throughout this process and our persistence. There is SO much that goes into opening up a business. A lot of people think you open shop and your business starts booming, but that is far from the truth. Most people give up when they aren’t seeing the immediate results that they want, and thats where we strive to be different. We are committed to growing, pivoting, and changing where we need to. We will not go down without a fight, and we believe that our market of insatiable, boldly authentic, adventurous, and disciplined women deserve to be represented. And that is what we are here to do.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Give it your all and be authentic. Do something that you are so passionate about that you can’t stop talking about it. Entrepreneurship is HARD and takes relentless motivation and discipline. It is not a quick way to get rich. If you are going to do this thing, you better love what you are doing and who you are doing it with.
