Conversations with Marilyn Monhoe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marilyn Monhoe

Hi Marilyn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Get ready for a story that’s nothing short of a rollercoaster! I became a mom at 17, and by 22, I had four beautiful children. While my peers were busy partying and climbing career ladders, I was doing my best at being the best mother I could be. At 25, I met the love of my life, and we’ve been blissfully married for 14 wonderful years.

Flash forward to 2017. I was 33 and had been at my job for 8 years when the company hit rocky waters. Our paychecks were bouncing, and I was in a panic about paying the bills. But there was a silver lining—I had a growing social media presence on Instagram and Twitter. The internet couldn’t get enough of my cute selfies and quirky humor.

On July 27, 2017, I sent out a tweet that changed everything: “DM me if you want to purchase explicit photos.” I didn’t think anyone would bite, but I made $5,000 in the first week. That’s when my OnlyFans journey began.

Back in 2017, OnlyFans wasn’t the household name it is today, making me one of the platform’s original pioneers.

For the past seven years, I’ve juggled a “day job” in the aesthetic/MedSpa industry, which is my passion. I work a 9-5 at SSA beauty Bar, a luxury MedSpa in Sandy Springs, GA. However, I wasn’t always so fortunate. My previous employer of 5 years found out about my OnlyFans career and I was one of those women who lost their job because of it.

Thankfully, my current employer fully supports my journey without a hint of judgment. It’s rare, and I’m incredibly grateful for it. Balancing both worlds has been an incredible ride, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
You might think the biggest struggle in my industry is the backlash or opinions from others about my choices, but honestly, I couldn’t care less.

A major part of being a successful content creator is constant advertising and promoting. This is a self-made industry. Sure, I could have signed with an agency or had someone manage my platforms, but my money is not their money. I’ve always managed everything myself without incorporating third parties.

The biggest challenge has been losing my social media accounts and having to start over. This has happened at least 10 times in the past seven years. Each time, I’ve had to rebrand and create new online aliases. Major platforms have a double standard, and many content creators like me have to deal with being shadow-banned, making it harder to advertise and promote our content.

Another significant challenge was being forced to resign from my previous day job when inappropriate photos were anonymously emailed to the physicians I worked with in 2022. They discovered my online life, which I had kept private for the five years I was employed, and they threw me out like trash. It was a very difficult time, and I went through a deep depression for months.

However, I was able to pull myself through, create boundaries, and find an employer who doesn’t care what I do in my personal time. That’s a huge win for me, and I’m forever grateful to be supported and respected in my line of work.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
It’s almost like I live two different lives! As an online content creator, I’ve successfully crafted an image that I maintain with confidence, sexiness, humor, and a natural sex appeal that people find irresistibly attractive. They also appreciate that I’m a regular person—a mom of four adult kids, happily married for 14 years, working a normal day job, and dealing with anxiety and stress just like everyone else. I love that my confidence inspires other women.

My passion lies in being confident, positive, and spreading that energy to those around me. This passion extends to my day job in the world of aesthetics.

For the last six years, I’ve worked in the Facial Aesthetics industry. I know firsthand that your image is the first impression most will see, whether online or in person. Taking care of your skin and appearance is my passion, and I love helping others feel more confident in themselves. I work alongside some of the best Nurse Injectors and Aestheticians at SSA beauty Bar, where we strive to enhance natural beauty every day.

Any big plans?
This year marked a major milestone for me as I turned 40, and my youngest son turned 18. It feels like I’ve lived my life in reverse compared to the norm—while most people my age have young children, I’m about to start living my best life with more wisdom and freedom than many others my age.

I’ve also come to understand that anxiety stems from overthinking the future, so I’ve learned to take one day at a time and deal with things as they come. I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m exactly where I want to be in life and wouldn’t want to change much. My focus is on being healthy, happy, and successful.
