Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Conti
Hi Anna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in New York and moved to the Atlanta area in December 2020.
I’ve always been passionate about serving and helping others, so when it came time to decide what I wanted to do as a career, I knew I wanted to do something purposeful. I graduated from Davis College in 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Religious Education in Christian Ministries and worked at a church for a few years post-college.
When I moved to Georgia, I didn’t know what was next for me. After a lot of searching and prayer, an opportunity opened up for me to work for Inheritance of Hope–a nonprofit I had been volunteering with for many years. I’ve been on staff ever since and absolutely love it!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I was a teen, my dad was diagnosed with stage IV cancer and it was really difficult for me and my family. There was a lot of uncertainty and it felt very isolating. But during that time, we were introduced to Inheritance of Hope, a nonprofit that serves young families facing the loss of a parent to terminal illness. We were able to create lasting memories together and find community with other families who understood what we were walking through. The experience really impacted us and I knew immediately that I wanted to volunteer and give back to other families. I served as a volunteer for almost 10 years and then came on staff full-time in 2021.
Though my dad’s cancer was extremely challenging, the experience set the trajectory for where I am today. It gave me a passion for helping others in similar situations, and a new perspective on how to live intentionally. If I hadn’t walked through that, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Marketing & Communications Manager for Inheritance of Hope (IoH). In my role, I communicate the mission of IoH and stories from our community to a growing audience through mass communications. This includes social media, email marketing, press releases, content creation, advertisements, and more.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I owe it all to the grace of God. His love and guidance have strengthened me and led me to where I am today. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities He has provided me to help others
