Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Perez
Hi Diana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Diana. I was born and raised in Honduras, lived in South Florida, and now I call Georgia my home.
I started my marketing career nearly eight years ago. I’ve always been attracted to the creative aspect of marketing and have grown interested in growing social media accounts, so I started by working with small businesses and my job at the time.
The more I worked on it, the more I realized how much I enjoyed social media marketing and creating content that can help businesses promote themselves and connect with their community. I took the time to dive into any training, blogs, and Facebook groups I could find to increase my expertise.
I was lucky to be laid off in 2017 and decided to enter the world of social media management full-time. Since then, I’ve worked with start-ups and businesses in the Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, SaaS, and Biotechnology industries. I help them develop social media strategies, create content, grow their social media presence, increase traffic to their website, and generate leads through social media.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with fantastic CMOs and leaders, bringing their vision to life on social media while also juggling my personal life as a mom of three and a visual artist.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been challenging, but all things worth it tend to add extra spice to your life!
I’ve had to learn how to become better at what I do, learn how to run a business, and manage my time in both my personal and professional life.
One of the biggest struggles, especially at the beginning, was to learn how to properly price my services. I believe many freelancers and entrepreneurs struggle with this, and I was no exception. Balancing my time as an entrepreneur, artist, and mom has also been challenging at times, but I’ve taken it all one step at a time. I’m incredibly lucky to have a supporting husband who holds my hand whenever I need it and reminds me of my why.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a social media manager and content creator for B2B companies in legacy industries like manufacturing, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and SaaS. I am also an artist who works in acrylic paint, digital art, and graphite.
I am most known for creating content for B2B companies that are looking to grow on social media channels like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
On the visual art side, I’ve had some of my work displayed for local shows in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and I have created custom pieces for clients in the South Florida area.
The one thing I’m most proud of in my professional career is that I’ve always done my best to make my client’s life easier on the social media side of things. I ensure I bring my best work and talk honestly about what I can do and areas where we can best find another experienced professional so we can meet the goals we set in their business.
What’s next?
Professionally, I’m looking to grow my business and continue to work with amazing B2B brands while empowering my team to be their best selves so we can make creative magic happen for our clients. My goal is to have a creative agency that combines strategy and creativity (music, design, art video) to help businesses grow and connect with their community and ideal clients.
I’m also looking forward to having art shows and expanding my art career here in the Atlanta metro area. As I learn more about Georgia, I look forward to future art commissions and shows and to meet fantastic, creative individuals.
