Hi Brian J., so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I originally started my business journey about seven years ago with Elwood’s Mobile Auto Spa, providing mobile detailing services in Rocky Mount and Eastern North Carolina. Earlier this year, I ventured into creating user-generated content, which opened up opportunities for me to become a brand ambassador for companies like Temu, Target, Strong Size, and Starstruck Collection. This experience in content creation naturally evolved into producing content for others, leading to the birth of 357. Visions, my photography and videography business. This progression also inspired my move to Atlanta, where I’ve been able to expand my reach and continue growing my brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been smooth. As the second person in my family to start a business, following in the footsteps of my great-grandfather who was the first Black man to open a tailor shop in Clinton, North Carolina, I’ve had to navigate a lot on my own. Without a mentor to show me the ropes, Some of the struggles I’ve faced include working extremely hard, especially on hot days, just to make ends meet. There were times when the money I made went straight to paying bills, leaving little room for anything else. Upgrading equipment, like cameras, was another challenge—affording the tools I needed to grow my business wasn’t always easy. But despite these hurdles, I’ve kept pushing forward, staying committed to my goals and hopeful for the future.

Elwood’s Mobile Auto Spa and 357 Visions. Elwood’s Mobile Auto Spa is my mobile detailing business, where I’m known for delivering exceptional customer service. I build strong, trusting relationships with my clients, treating their vehicles with the utmost care as if they were my own. As a car enthusiast, I handle every car with precision and passion.
On the other hand, 357 Visions is my photography and videography business, a new venture now serving the Atlanta area. I strive for crisp, high-quality images and videos, offering a range of services including videography, photography, creative direction, consulting, and even some producing. My focus is on capturing the best moments and delivering top-notch visuals to my clients.
I’m particularly proud of the fact that even though I’ve relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, my North Carolina clients from Elwood’s Mobile Auto Spa still want me to come back and serve them. It shows the strong relationships and trust I’ve built with them over the years. As for my photography business, 357 Visions, I’ve been pushing to grow my own clientele, and it’s been rewarding to have big brands reach out, wanting to collaborate with me. It’s a testament to the quality and dedication I bring to every project.
