Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikel Wilson
Hi Mikel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Usa Today award winning and Amazon bestselling author I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa Al. I now reside with my family in Sweetwater Al. I am married to my beautiful wife of 15 years Danielle and together we have four beautiful children John-Henry, Mackinzie, Ayden and Emily Elizabeth. The funny thing is took up writing as a hobby someone dared me… they said You cant write a good vampire book so I had to probe them wrong… little did I know it would become one of my callings. I Write in several genres ranging from Fantasy/Suspense and Fanatasy Romance,Rom-com and even Murder Mystery I have been featured in several magazines, newspapers and television for my work. I released an epic Fantasy which is apart of a giant shared world The Enchanted Elemental Empires part one of my trilogy The Red Dragon series (Flames of Betrayal) on July 29th which receieved amwzing feedback and reviews my new murder Mystery Flames of The Crows Betrayal releases October 31,2024. I am a regular husband that enjoys making the most out of life. I enjoy building cars fron the ground up mechanics and paint and body and making something beautiful out of nothing. Its my belief that we ahould live every day like its our last. Like the saying goes ” Life is a gift thats why its called the present.”
In 2023 I released my first single “I Believe in You” which is available on all streaming platforms my music video also dropped the same day. I play several instruments from guitar, piano, drums, tenor saxophone and violin. My main job is being a certified IT tech but my heart is writing and I enjoy singing and church as well as helping the youth in my community. I would like to sit down and talk about my journey and goal of inspiring others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Learning the author life was difficult as an indie author and a known extrovert I was quick to believe everyone who gave me advice. I soon learned that not everyone has your best interest at heart. I ahave faced people stealing and being vindictive by doing all types of things but honestly it only made me go harder. I am thankful for them because without them I wouldve never growed into the author I am today.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I took a huge risk putting myself out there but it has paid off big time. I have gone through tornado’s in 2011 my subdivison was destroyed leaving my entire community in shambles but that event gave me the inspiration to write one of my best books “Shattered But Not Easily Broken.” People believe that you will never face adversity and you wont unless you are a risk taker who is willing to push the envelope.
