Serena, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
From a girl that enjoyed performing surveys for businesses for fun to a woman that loves to share about the newest and hottest events, places, and things.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth road? What is that? Most of my challenges have been dealing with other women. Everyone is different and expresses themselves differently, but you cannot tell with all of the cattiness and jealousy amongst female bloggers.
Advice: Stay true to yourself. If you are a certain personality type, don’t change just to conform to others. Be you and people will come.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
I do not have a mentor per say, but I would like to have one. I would say that you have to be willing to embarrass yourself and open yourself up to rejection. Everyone is not going to receive you, but stay strong. Don’t be afraid to ask for help because there is always someone willing to help you.
