Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Fisher
Hi Tasha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always had a deep appreciation for design and creating memorable experiences since I was a kid. My parents would always host birthday parties for my siblings and I and it allowed me to be a part of the planning. When I hosted my daughter’s first birthday celebration, I knew that it had to be a grand event. At the time I owned a daycare center and invited all the parents to attend with their children. They loved the decor, theme and entertainment. From there Royal Decor Events was born with a vision to create luxury children celebrations that focuses on one of a kind children landscapes, entertainment, and fun. My background as a teacher gives me a unique insight into what makes events special for kids regardless of age, gender or ability. My daughter and students inspire me daily with new innovative ideas and threads that I craft into one-of-a-kind celebrations.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Royal Decor Events has had quite the journey since I launched the company in 2019. I quickly became the go-to choice for children’s party rentals in my community, offering a range of services including tables, chairs, and themed entertainment. My schedule filled up rapidly, and I juggled consultations, sending invoices, and setting up events—all while working full-time as an elementary school teacher. While I thrived on the creative design aspects, I struggled with developing effective business solutions and systems that worked for me.
The pandemic presented a major challenge, with restrictions limiting events to 10 guests or fewer. Many of my clients had to cancel or scale down their celebrations, so I pivoted to offer in-home celebrations and event party packages. One memorable adaptation was hosting a Tween Tik-Tok themed party via Zoom. Each tween received a party package with a custom t-shirt, cupcakes, and party treats, and enjoyed a virtual dance session with a professional choreographer to learn a routine for Beyoncé’s hit song “Power.”
The response was heartwarming, especially when many of those tweens later reached out to share how much they loved the dance routine during Blu Ivy’s performance at the Renaissance Tour. For me, it’s all about creating lasting memories despite any setbacks. Perseverance has always been one of my strongest traits, and it’s been crucial in continuing to deliver exceptional experiences through Royal Decor Events.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Absolutely! I find that staying inspired and informed is crucial for doing my best in both work and life. My faith in Jesus Christ and putting God first gets top priority. It’s really the center of all I do, who I engage with, and how I run my business.
Apart from that books that inspire me are “The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters” by Priya Parker: This book offers insightful strategies on creating meaningful and memorable events, which is directly applicable to my work and “Atomic Habits” by James Clear: This book provides practical advice on building good habits and making lasting changes, which helps me stay productive and focused. I also enjoy listening to a good-ole podcast during my commutes. Two of my favorites are: “The Creative Pep Talk” by Andy J. Miller: This podcast offers motivation and practical tips for creative professionals, which I find incredibly inspiring and “Event Boss” by Charlyn Keating: This podcast is tailored to event planners and provides valuable insights and strategies for managing and growing an events business.
