Rising Stars: Meet Destini Kuykendall of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destini Kuykendall

Hi Destini, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my career as a Permanent Makeup artist (specializing in ombré powdered eyebrows) in Memphis Tennessee. I stepped out on faith and moved to atlanta in hopes to get my career off the ground! I’ve been here in atlanta since 2019. I started my career here with no clientele, Everyday I tell people how good God is because I give him all the credit as to how quickly I build a consistent clientele. I started off in a booth, then opened my own salon in 2021. I also began traveling all over the USA teaching my technique as well as how to start a permanent make up business to others. Still to this day, I provide the service and teach worldwide!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being is business has not been easy at all. There were always obstacles along the way, but I thank God for pulling me through them. The good always outweigh the bad. I learned many lessons along the way in which helped me mold into the person I am today! The obstacles build character.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m know for eyebrows! I feel like what sets me apart from the others is that I’m authentic, real, and very much talented. Also, I not only provide the service/teach, I give experiences!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see myself formulating franchises in different major cities!
