Check Out Morgan Tolley’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Tolley

Morgan , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I honestly can’t believe where @atllovesmo has gotten me to today! It started as a hobby, as a way to explore a new city, as a way to share pictures I took of my food, and as a way to maybe eat a free meal every once in a while. I had just graduated pharmacy school from MUSC in Charleston and was beginning a year of residency in Pensacola, FL. This was a new city for me and one I wanted to really make the most of my time in. I started sharing simple iPhone pictures of good food on a social media page as a way to document to my friends and remind myself of places I enjoyed. It remained a hobby for a few years and kept its purpose of being a digital diary and creative outlet as I made the move to Atlanta, GA. in 2019. Atlanta proved to be one of the most fun cities to explore with tons of food options and plenty of things to do. It took some time, but last year I started to really find my groove and passion for my page. With that, also came a really unique opportunity to meet incredible people in the space as well as start to see the impact I could have on local businesses. I joke that I spend more time working on @atllovesmo than I do as a pharmacist 40 hrs a week but it’s great to have the creative outlet and social space. I found I love to curate a vibe, help people plan a fun night out, and inspire them to explore one of my favorite cities yet.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest thing with this avenue of expression is finding your purpose and your ‘why.’ Without that, it could start to feel monotonous and exhausting. Social media can be a demanding space, and if you’re not driven by something meaningful, it’s easy to burn out. Reminding yourself why you enjoy this and what you are doing this for can be the key to staying motivated. What I found to help me the most is creating a “To Remember” note in my phone to write down every positive thing that takes place related to @atllovesmo – whether it is hitting a milestone, positive feedback from a business I worked with, or a nice comment a follower leaves me, it’s something I can look back on and remind myself all of the good that comes from this journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love to explore Atlanta and in the process share some of my favorite spots around the city for others to visit. My favorite thing to do is plan a fun night out where you can hit a few different spots for food, drinks, art, activities, etc. It’s my goal for people to find these cool spots with their friends or on a cute date night and make new memories! Atlanta has so much to offer and I’m (trying) to make the most of it. I’m proud of the community that I’ve built. I spend a lot of time engaging with my fellow creators and my audience in hopes of making this space somewhere fun and welcoming for everyone. Hopefully others can take something they’ve seen on @atllovesmo and create a really special moment in their lives (and if that’s you – please tell me all about it!!).

What’s next?
I’m just excited to see where this can go! My content has changed so much since I started, that I’m sure it will look different in a year or two. I’d love to introduce different types of content & see how my creativity evolves.
