Today we’d like to introduce you to Dropping Dymes Podcast
Hi Dropping Dymes, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The three of us hailing from different backgrounds just happen to all land on the same flag football here in Atlanta. . We came for the fun but over time we found ourselves drawn into deeper conversations about life beyond the field. As we swapped stories about our lives, careers, and the challenges we face as Black men, we realized these candid discussions were rare yet powerful.
Wallace had already started a podcast where he reviewed books with his guests, so one evening they came together and delved into the book “Battle Cry,” which spoke to their shared experiences and struggles. Inspired by the synergy of the conversation we began to plan and develop what is now the Dropping Dymes Podcast. In December of 2021 we launched our podcast.
Our first episode was a mix of laughter and vulnerability, a blend of hope and honesty. we shared trials—job rejections, family struggles, and societal pressures—and celebrated successes, big and small. Each episode became a platform for candid discussions, a safe space for sharing fears and aspirations.
As the weeks turned into months, we faced trials—technical mishaps, disagreements, and moments of self-doubt. Yet, each setback became a lesson, and we grew stronger as friends, creators, and men. Our podcast gained traction, resonating with listeners far beyond our original circle.
Now, 107 episodes in, we reflect on our journey. What started as a game of flag football had transformed into a movement. We illuminate paths to growth for ourselves and our community, proving that through open dialogue, vulnerability, and brotherhood, we can navigate the complexities of life together. Our conversations echoed through the airwaves, a testament to the power of connection, resilience, and our shared pursuit of growth.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
