Hi Niki, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Cigar Muse in 2023 with a vision to create a space where women could not only indulge in premium cigars but also connect with each other and support women-owned businesses. As I immersed myself in the cigar community, I quickly noticed a glaring disparity: women were often underrepresented and overlooked. Many events and discussions seemed to cater primarily to men. This observation compelled me to create a platform where women could share their experiences, knowledge, and love for cigars without feeling overlooked or marginalized.
From the outset, my focus has been on building brand awareness and nurturing a vibrant community. I wanted to provide a space where women could connect not only with each other, but also support women-owned businesses. By hosting events, workshops, and online discussions, Cigar Muse aims to celebrate female voices in the cigar world and educate newcomers who may feel intimidated or uninformed. The goal is to create an environment where women can confidently explore their interest in cigars, learn from each other, and champion brands that prioritize female representation.
As I reflect on the progress we’ve made so far, I am inspired by the enthusiasm and camaraderie that have developed within our community. The stories shared by our members highlight the unique journeys women have taken in their cigar experiences, reinforcing the idea that every voice matters. While we’re still in the early stages of building Cigar Muse, the connections being forged and the support being cultivated are paving the way for a more inclusive future in the cigar industry. Together, we are not just enjoying cigars; we are reshaping perceptions and establishing a lasting legacy for women in this space.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
NOT. AT. ALL. Definitely not a smooth road.
It has certainly been a bumpy ride. One of the biggest obstacles I’ve faced is earning the trust of women in a space where they have often been overlooked or misunderstood. Many women are excited about Cigar Muse when they first hear about us and even the men have been super supportive, but building trust is still no easy feat. Trust requires time, patience, and consistent effort to demonstrate that Cigar Muse is genuinely committed to supporting women in the industry.
Another significant struggle has been the challenge of establishing brand awareness in a niche market. While there is a growing interest in premium cigars, the idea of women leading the charge is still relatively new. Engaging with our target audience and communicating our mission effectively has required a lot of creative marketing and outreach. Whether it’s through social media campaigns, collaborations with women-owned businesses, or hosting local events, every step has demanded thoughtful planning and execution to ensure we resonate with potential members.
Lastly, managing the logistical aspects of building a community has been a learning curve. Coordinating events, curating content, and fostering engagement all require a significant time commitment. Balancing these demands with the ongoing need to cultivate relationships and maintain open communication within the community can be overwhelming at times. Despite these struggles, each challenge presents an opportunity for growth and learning, reinforcing my commitment to create a supportive space where women can thrive in the world of cigars. The progress we’ve made, however incremental, fuels my passion and dedication to Cigar Muse and its mission.

Cigar Muse is dedicated to creating a unique experience for women who are passionate about premium cigars. Our primary offering is a cigar of the month club designed specifically for women. Each month, members receive a curated selection of 3-5 cigars, ensuring they explore a variety of flavors and styles. Importantly, at least one of the featured brands each month is women-owned or led, allowing our members to not only indulge in exceptional cigars but also support female entrepreneurs in the industry. This approach helps highlight the contributions of women while fostering a sense of community among our members.
What sets Cigar Muse apart from other cigar clubs is our commitment to empowerment and education. We don’t just send cigars; we provide resources and knowledge that enhance the experience of being a female cigar enthusiast. Our events—both in-person and virtual—focus on connecting women, sharing expertise, and cultivating a deeper understanding of cigars. We aim to create a welcoming space where women can learn from each other and grow in their passion for cigars.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Many people who know me through Cigar Muse might be surprised to learn that I am actually quite shy. This shyness often feels at odds with the outgoing persona I project. It can be challenging to reconcile the need for public engagement with my natural inclination to stay in the background, but I’ve found that my dedication to this mission drives me to push beyond my comfort zone.
My shyness has also shaped the way I approach building connections within the community. I understand firsthand how intimidating it can be to enter a space where you might feel out of place or uncertain. This empathy fuels me to create a welcoming environment where every woman feels comfortable and valued, regardless of her level of experience with cigars. I want to ensure that our interactions with women foster genuine connections, making it easier for others to share their stories.
