Today we’d like to introduce you to Arlando Usher
Hi Arlando , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was a kid that played all sports and had big dreams of making it as a great Athlete. After things didn’t go so well in those directions, storytelling and the arts became my new passion. I have always loved storytelling because I could get lost in new worlds and give the world insight on what goes on in my mind lol. My mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa gave me so many lessons about life and had cousins to mentor me as well. I was a theatre major at Georgia Perimeter/Georgia State and began to push my acting career forward. While enrolled I was booking independent roles as well as extra parts in Tyler Perry Productions. I was so excited for every opportunity. I even had a chance to attend the premiere of Hancock and met Will Smith. I took that opportunity very serious, I gave him my headshot and resume but never heard anything from it but I still believe God hasn’t done anything on accident up to this point in my life. Currently I am in the process of getting funding for my new project The Bad Bad Whiskey Blues in which I wrote based on true events. A story that happened right here in Atlanta, Georgia in October 21, 1951. One of the largest alcohol poisoning in U.S. history. To support me there it’s up live on Indiegogo and also facebook at Arlando Usher. I also can be reached at Arlandousher@gmail.com
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely has not been a smooth road. In life we want things to go our way all the time and like I mentioned before my family taught me things are never going to be smooth. Every situation we are put in prepares us for what’s to come later in life. Tough times builds character and perseverance.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a writer and actor. Creating great meaningful stories is my strength. I want to continue giving others hope that even when the odds are stacked you still can prevail with God. I am very proud of myself for having a drive and a tough skin to continue to move forward despite being told No. I made No my vitamin at this point in my life big time. My willingness to never give up sets me apart from others.
What were you like growing up?
I have always been a social person especially to people who shows respect and have my best interests at heart. I love dogs, cars, and spending time with my family. I love playing video games because it kept me occupied and out of trouble.
