Today we’d like to introduce you to Julian Albert
Hi Julian, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We all met in college, going through the same film program. Me (Julian Albert) and Ricardo Moreno started buying lighting equipment whenever we saw a great deal. We split the price and started slowly collecting equipment to rent out and make some spare money on the side while in school. After a few jobs in-between classes we slowly started to realize that people would usually hire us as crew along with the equipment. While in school Ricardo and Sydnee Ackiss worked on their passion student film together called “Amphibian” where I and Sarah Webb got hired on as Gaffer and Prop Master. Here we all realized how well we all worked together and started talking more seriously about making our side project in-between classes into a real company. After graduation we worked as a group on a few projects before taking the big leap and moving up to the ATL area. After getting settled we hunkered down and started taking things more seriously than ever before like designing a logo, making shirts and promoting our social media.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Leaving everything behind and moving to Georgia was a struggle, but we don’t regret it and wouldn’t change a single thing. Business wise we’ve had a generally smooth road networking and meeting a lot of awesome people that we love to work with.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a film production company and specialize in providing a travelling crew and production equipment from lighting to camera. At our company we have a director, director of photography, camera team, electrical team, as well as a grip team.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Our business started with luck when me and Ricardo found a great deal on phenomenal lighting equipment that we still use today.
