Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal G.
Hi Crystal, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my brand because I always had a love for sneakers, daily I would post a picture of my sneakers and post “my feet sick” as a caption. A friend of mine during the pandemic ask me why don’t I come up with a clothing line due to your feet being sick. So, one day I made it happen starting my own clothing line called my feet sick. One year later I started my high end luxury street wear brand tailored around tapestry and knit.
How I got where I am today is by staying focused and understanding my brand. I started ordering different swatches, pieces of fabrics and learning how to do measurements. I started putting my brand into multiple fashions show and local pop up shops. Networking was key.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No not at all. I learned success comes with failure. Starting out I had to learned how to get strangers to buy my product and actually see my vision. The hardest I would say was getting on social media promoting my brand and getting likes. On top of that finding manufacturers that I could trust without getting ripped off. Lastly, I would say learning other styles outside of mine. Getting people to see my vision of what I would wear verses what they would wear.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about My Feet Sick / Humble Sole Society?
My feet sick was created in 2020 and Humble Sole Society was created in 2021. My feet Sick and Humble Sole Society is a lifestyle brand, it was created to connect with people from all walks of life that have a passion for the sneakers and fashion culture. I specialize in everyday street wear that includes comfort material from sweatsuits, creative fashion denims, and sweater tee’s. Humble Sole Society specializes in unique tapestry and knits, my signature and what makes me stand out is the pearl buttons and silk linings that complements my pieces.
What sets me apart from others is having my own thought out signatures pieces and not following trends. My motivation, my drive and my focus is different from others.
I’m most proud of my pieces being feature on MC Light partners and Rhyme TV show, the CHI, and being featured in GEZNO magazine out of Paris. I am also proud to have my brand available and sold out of Northlake Mall in Opulence Style House.
What I want my readers to know is that My Feet Sick and Humble Sole Society have a professional website, myfeetsick.com. I offer monthly discounts, custom pieces if you need your own unique piece, group event outfits, sororities and I also travel. Lastly I style as well if you need an outfit for the red carpet or special event , I’m your girl!
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The important lessons I learned during Covid 19 is that some times you have to slow down and think and focus and exit out of everyday life outside. When the pandemic happened a lot of lives were lost and we were all suffering. The world became a sad place. Rest in peace to all the precious lives lost. But, it gave me the chance to focus on my dream and that is how I got where I am today.
