Today we’d like to introduce you to Raww Blue
Hi Raww , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in the industry for a long time, I like to say I put in my 10,000 hours. I’m From Brooklyn, NY originally. Growing up in the streets I seen music as my only way out, I was always musically inclined. I started at 13 but didn’t take it too serious until later on, at early 15 I had gotten cut in my neck in result of being in the streets…I was left with 200 stitches in and out. I was down for about a year ,I used to let doubt get to me but didn’t stop because I knew I was dealing with this for a reason. At 17 I took my first flight out of NY to ATL to visit super producer Troy Taylor , who discovered Trey songs and more, he spotted me on MySpace and heard my story and wanted to help. He showed me a different side of the industry and what I could obtain, which made me a monster in my craft. From there I took upon myself to reach higher levels, and the rest is history. I could go on forever lol
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth road? Absolutely not. I’ve bumped my head so much haha. I believe if you don’t bump your head you’ll never learn where and how to move in this maze of a game. I’ve been told NO way more times than YES. It builds character , it might kill some people’s confidence but that’s what separates US from THEM. This isnt made for everybody ya know. But when you get that YES, you better put your BEST foot forward. You gotta know how to move, this is called “The Game” For a reason.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I hate just calling myself a “Rapper” , ima ENTERTAINER. I say that because I do WAY MORE than just RAP… you won’t get as far with only having that skill. I’m big on BUSINESS as well, being an innovator, I’ve had my own Headphones, sneakers, clothing, watches and even chips. People seem to only think about the MUSIC part in this music BUSINESS but I didn’t let that go over my head. I’m mostly known for music though but most people don’t know I engineer most of my own music at a high level, or even edit my own YouTube video series called “RAWW FOOTAGE”. I have a great team and manager , along with them I still wear many hats. Get double the work done feel me. I’m proud that I got to spread my wings so much, music opened so many doors for me over these years that were so unexpected. From doing voice overs for cartoon animations to acting in movies on Netflix and Hulu … to even modeling for GQ magazine. I surprised myself with a lot of these things but that’s because I wasn’t afraid to hear the word NO, in fact it made me go even harder. That’s what sets me apart. And I praise the most high for all the energy he has given me.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy?……… planning something in my head and then executing it and watching it come to life. Ima creator , that drives me through the roof like no other. I think about creating EVERYDAY, ALL DAY.
Other than that I would have to say my loved ones, close friends and family , seeing them happy makes me happy. I’m BIG on energy. Which motivates me to create.
