Hi Melissa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got into franchising with Clean Your Dirty Face a bit unexpectedly in 2021, but in hindsight, it’s been a natural progression. My background was originally in Clinical Trial Research Finance and Project Management where I developed a strong foundation in planning, executing and closing out projects. I still currently work at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Corporate Finance, but Clean Your Dirty Face has been my biggest project to date!
I found out about Clean Your Dirty Face through my son’s Montessori teacher. I never heard of it before and was instantly drawn in by the name. I decided to check it out and it was love at first facial! I loved it so much, I bought product to take home and I joined as an Unlimited Member. I really appreciated the price point and as a busy mom of 2 young children, the convenience of a 30-minute facial was exactly what I needed to squeeze some self-care into my jam packed schedule. My husband and I have always entertained the idea of opening up a business, but we weren’t sure what we wanted our focus to be. Immediately after my first visit to Clean Your Dirty Face, I booked a facial for my husband to see for himself what our business venture would be. 3 years later…here we are in our very own CYDF studio.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It wasn’t a smooth road for us. My husband and I joined the franchise in August 2021, but we did not open our doors until July 2023. As first time business owners, there have been a lot of rewarding moments, but there have also been significant challenges that have truly tested my resilience.
One of the first hurdles was getting all the foundational elements in place. The hardest for us was finding a location. Everywhere we wanted to be, we were either restricted by pre-existing leases or there were no spaces available. When owning a business, location is everything. Although it took us over one year to find the perfect location, it was all worth the wait. We love our little space and we have the best local business partners surrounding us.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Clean Your Dirty Face?
We are a 30-minute facial bar that will give you clean, more radiant skin. Clean Your Dirty Face is about more than just skincare…it’s a reminder to take time for yourself and your self-care routine. We’re not just offering facials and products, we’re offering a philosophy: that healthy, radiant skin starts with simple, clean ingredients and a commitment to consistency. Like our facials, our products and clean ingredients are rooted in yoga, and health and wellness versus beauty. Our brand is inclusive, welcoming everyone who wants to take better care of their skin. We celebrate diversity and aim to make everyone feel confident and comfortable in their own skin, no matter their age, gender, or background.
Our 30-minute facial includes steam, deep cleanse, exfoliation, mask, toning, moisturizing and a 5-point acupressure face massage. We have Enhancements that can be purchased to maximize your facial results, but they do not extend the time (unless a 1-hr upgrade or Zen Bundle are added). We have a wide range of Enhancement choices that range from Ultrasonic Extractions to Nanosculpt and Peels.
Having our own clean beauty product line combined with our focus on helping clients find the right products for their unique skin types and concerns is what sets us apart from others. Because we use our own products, we are able to educate our clients about the importance of consistency and using products that are non-toxic, free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, and never tested on animals. This commitment to transparency has made us a trusted name in the clean beauty space.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was traveling to The Philippines and Thailand during summer vacation. Spending time with family that I didn’t get to see very often was so special. I have vivid memories of learning how to play Mahjong with my Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. Since then, I’ve forgotten how to play, but recently re-learned the game. Every time I play and gather with family and friends for Mahjong night, it takes me back to my childhood.
