Today we’d like to introduce you to Que Josiah Thomas
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m an openly Transgender male who has medically and surgically fully transitioned.
I founded and established my own Ministry called THE R.E.E.L. ( Reaching Everyone Equally with Love) CENTER OF ATLANTA ( RCA ) ; A non traditional Ministry that caters to every person , community, race, gender and/or sex.
I believe I’m the first African American Transmale as an Apostle over my own Ministry and Reformation here in Atlanta.
Im a father , grandfather, son , fiance’ and brother.
I also officiate high school and some Division 2 school football and basketball throughout the state of Georgia.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve definitely had my share of obstacles.
I was previously falsely convicted, and incarcerated at the age of 21 when my sports career was just taking off, and released at 37 years of age.
Though I was later exonerated, the mental and financial recovery my family endured collectively is something we are still working through today.
During my transition, I’ve dealt with people I loved choosing not to support me, but the most devastating thing was my eldest son was entering the prison system with a life sentence as I was exiting.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m currently most known for pastoring RCA, the work I do in the community, and being a Georgia State Official, but what I’m most proud of is the internal work I do for myself.
What set’s me apart is the unapologetic favor of God. Doors keep opening up for me in my life and I’m incredibly thankful.
I know many people who I believe to be innocent but are still sitting behind bars. Thousands who are out but are unable to vote, obtain a good job, or a safe place to live after serving their time.
I give grace and forgiveness to my past, while continuing foward, leading and blessing the people around me and our communities.
I’m very vocal about the things I’ve gone through, the mistakes I’ve made in my life, and how I continue to overcome, so people will see that a good life ( not perfect ) is possible despite all that happens to say otherwise.
