Hi Yavin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Here’s a more in-depth look into my journey and how YGFIT came to life.

My story started in my garage during the quarantine. Gyms were closed, and I—like many others—had to adapt. I had some basic equipment at home and a strong desire to stay active, so I started posting workout videos and sharing creative ways to train with limited resources. These videos weren’t just for me; they were a way to help others stay connected to their fitness goals when access to traditional gym settings wasn’t possible. What started as a way to stay connected soon began to catch on, and before long, friends, family, and even strangers were reaching out, drawn by the vision I was working to bring to life.

With a background in exercise physiology, I already had a solid understanding of the body, but I saw that I could offer something even more tailored. I began curating personalized workout guides and meal plans, helping people achieve results from wherever they were, both physically and in their fitness journeys. During this period, I took my passion for fitness and turned it into a mission. I studied for and earned certifications in personal training, strength coaching, and nutrition, solidifying my expertise to serve clients with even more precision and insight. That’s when YGFIT officially launched as a business and brand—one built to support people from all backgrounds and fitness levels in reaching their highest potential.

Once quarantine restrictions lifted, I joined a gym as a front desk associate. I knew that immersing myself in the fitness industry would bring more opportunities to learn and grow, and I used this time to engage with clients, build relationships, and prove myself. My role eventually transitioned into personal training, which allowed me to expand my reach and impact. I moved from Suwanee to Atlanta, a shift that came with new challenges and growth. This move opened the door to working with a larger clientele and brought me more visibility as people started to see YGFIT in action. Many of my clients found me through word-of-mouth recommendations, inspired by the results they saw in others or experienced for themselves.

From 2020 onward, my journey took a new dimension as I explored the deeper aspects of health. I began integrating African Holistic Health into my training philosophy—a powerful framework that emphasizes natural, holistic approaches to wellness and has a rich history rooted in the mind-body connection. I found this approach essential in understanding what truly sustains us, and it allowed me to add a layer of depth to my work. Today, I bring this expanded focus to my clients, blending high-intensity training and science-based nutrition with holistic health practices.

Through YGFIT, I now work with clients from all walks of life, ranging in age from 12 to 50. I’m known for my high-energy, high-intensity training style, which is more than just physical; it’s about creating a space where people can tap into their potential, physically and mentally. For me, fitness isn’t just about training muscles; it’s a journey toward embracing the mind, body, and soul, empowering people to achieve what they once thought impossible.

Each step along this path, from the garage workouts to building my brand in Atlanta, has shaped my approach and deepened my commitment to helping people reconnect with their power. YGFIT is a reflection of my journey and the collective journeys of my clients, rooted in the belief that true fitness is a comprehensive transformation that brings us closer to our best selves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been anything but smooth—like any journey toward a deeply held goal, it’s been filled with challenges that constantly test my commitment. Building YGFIT from the ground up was a journey of highs and lows, and with each obstacle, I had to dig deeper to keep going. When you’re dedicated to something as significant as this, you quickly learn that setbacks are part of the path, and every bump can teach you something if you’re open to it.

There were times when I felt on top of the world, but just as often, there were moments of hardship and uncertainty. From dealing with family losses and financial setbacks to managing times when I had only one client a month, the road was never easy. During the early stages, I juggled working full-time, building my business, and attending school full-time, all while wondering when I would see the growth I dreamed of. It required patience and resilience on a level I hadn’t experienced before. Over time, though, I began to understand the value of persistence—my client base eventually expanded, and within a year, I went from a handful of clients to gaining 10-15 new clients every two months.

Through all of it, I learned that maintaining optimism, even when the journey feels difficult, is essential. The highs and lows taught me to be prepared for anything because reality—whether good or challenging—can set in at any moment. I learned to keep going no matter what, to stay ready, and to embrace every experience as part of the growth process. The journey to building YGFIT reinforced my belief in myself and my vision, reminding me that while the road may be rough, the reward is worth every step.

– Private One-on-One Sessions: For clients seeking personalized attention and tailored programming, my one-on-one sessions provide a fully customized experience. These sessions focus on individual needs, from strength building and conditioning to flexibility and injury prevention, while giving clients the dedicated support and motivation needed to push beyond their limits.
– Public One-on-One Sessions: Sometimes, clients thrive in a more communal environment where they can connect with others on a similar path. In these sessions, they get the benefit of both individualized training and a shared energy that can be inspiring and motivating.
– Group Training (Private and Public): Group sessions are perfect for those who enjoy a team-like atmosphere. In these sessions, I lead clients through high-energy, carefully structured workouts that deliver results and foster a sense of community. Private groups offer a personalized group setting for friends or family, while public groups allow clients to connect with others.

– Every client has unique fitness goals, body types, and lifestyles, so I create fully customized workout plans that meet each individual’s specific objectives. This includes guidance on portion sizes, macronutrient balance, and food choices that align with each person’s goals, dietary preferences, and lifestyle.

– For clients who find it challenging to consistently prepare nutritious meals, I offer meal prep services that take the stress out of healthy eating. These meals are tailored to meet each client’s dietary requirements and taste preferences, making it easier to stick to a nutritious diet without the hassle of planning, shopping, or cooking. Clients receive fully prepared, balanced meals that support their fitness goals and simplify their daily routines.

5. Life and Holistic Practice Coaching

Something that might surprise people who know me or my work is how much I enjoy immersing myself in creative and outdoor activities outside of fitness. Beyond training and coaching, I have a passion for rollerskating, painting, drawing, reading, and writing, which give me a different outlet to express myself. I also love spending time in nature, whether it’s taking long walks, hiking, or biking in parks and scenic trails.

Traveling is another big part of my life; I make time to explore both locally and internationally, which helps me stay inspired and connected to different cultures and perspectives. In addition to my fitness business, I’m also hands-on with personal projects like working on my car’s interior and exterior and helping with landscaping projects with my family. Recently, I’ve been learning about day trading and channeling my creative side into designing new YGFIT apparel. My goal is to create inclusive designs that are comfortable, stylish, and fit all shapes and sizes, so everyone feels empowered wearing them.
