Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Dennis

Jacqueline, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a 43-year-old native of Thomaston, Georgia. I graduated from Upson-Lee High School in 2000 with both a technical preparatory and college preparatory seal. My parents, Laverne and Christopher Ray, both worked in the textile industry. They raised me and my brother, Brandon Ray up in the church, instilling Christian values and morals in us.

I am married to Lowell Dennis, Jr and we have three beautiful daughters: Samantha, MaKayla, and Lalah.

My Education: I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Fort Valley State University. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology from the University of Arizona. I am currently pursuing a teacher’s certification from Savannah State University.

In 2018 God gave me a vision to open my own business. I was unsure what God wanted from me but He had everything planned, I just had to take the first step. I learned everything I could about how to manage my own business correctly. I was dedicated and determined and in 2019, I launched the opening of Royalty Tees, LLC. As the CEO of Royalty Tees, LLC, we specialize in customized t-shirts, hoodies, and other paraphrenia. Royalty Tees, LLC provides intimate apparel for everyday luxury giving our customers style that echoes personality. My business focuses on being creative and fashion-forward. We resonate with our target audience and embrace elegance one stitch at a time. Not only do we service Georgia but we ship all over the United States.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In 1992 my mother was diagnosed with Lupus and passed away during my senior year while I was attending college at Fort Valley State University. When someone you love passes away you never get over it. you just slowly get through each day, and you always keep them safely in your heart. Every day, I wake up with the mindset that I will continue to make my mother proud. I have lost several family members along this journey but as a Christian, I know that I will see them again.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been teaching ninth and tenth-grade English and Language Arts in the public school system for the past two years. Before that, I was a Senior Admissions Counselor for 16 years at a four-year state college here in Georgia. As an educator, I believe in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for all of my students.
As an educator, I am passionate about educating our youth and I have been blessed to have worked in Georgia’s K-12 and Georgia’s Board of Regents in Higher Education for almost twenty years.
My educational experiences have allowed me to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. My educational philosophy is based on my uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family.
Currently, I serve as the student advisor for the student focus group for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Which is the framework for supporting whole school practices (schoolwide) while promoting a safe school setting by supporting the social, learning, behavioral, and emotional needs of all students both with and without individualized education programs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I am not lucky I am blessed and highly favored. In 2013, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and joined Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Molena, Georgia where the Reverend C. Derrick Shelton, Sr. is my Pastor. God keeps on doing great things for me. God blows my mind with the unmerited favor HE has given me and my family. If I had ten thousand tongues I could not praise him enough. I give him all the glory, honor, and praise. If God had not used my love for learning, teaching experiences, and spiritual gifts of administration and creativity to propel my business to success it would not be. I attribute my success to God who is the head of my life. Without HIM, I am nothing.

If I can give anyone reading my story some encouragement it would be to take my favorite bible verses read them and ask God to lead and guide you. Trust Him and He will give you the desires of your heart.

My favorite bible verses are:
Ephesians 3:20: “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us”.
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct paths.”
Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.”
