Today we’d like to introduce you to Nameica Turk-Craig
Nameica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I like to say I’m a country girl with a city girl’s grind. I grew up in Snow Hill, Alabama, a small town in Wilcox County—the poorest county in the state at the time. A place where many great people doing great things in this world came from. Despite the challenges of growing up there, I am incredibly proud of my roots. My hometown shaped me, but I always knew my future wasn’t confined to its borders.
Even after leaving, my heart stayed connected— I guess you can say home is where the heart is. My passion for reaching back led me to create 66 Chic, a faith-inspired apparel line celebrating the women and girls of Wilcox County that became a whole movement. Initially, the brand was a way to honor my upbringing while empowering the young women back home to live purposefully, with confidence and good character. But one day, a social media follower asked what 66 Chic truly represented, and God revealed something greater: It wasn’t just about where I’m from—it’s about who I strive to be. A woman after God’s heart, striving to live by His principles. And where do you find those? In the 66 books of the Bible. That realization transformed 66 Chic into a message for women and girls worldwide, and I’m ecstatic about relaunching the line in the Summer of 2025.
After high school, I pursued my dream of more. I attended Concordia College in Selma, Alabama, studying Business Management before transferring to the Art Institute of Atlanta to pursue Residential Interior Design. Moving to Atlanta was the spark that ignited my passion for life. I remember the day my parents dropped me off at GA Tech Campus where our student housing dwelled, and my dad gave me a list of dos and don’ts—including, “Don’t get pregnant now, baby girl.” I laughed and said, “Aww, Daddy, how’s that going to happen?” And, well… life had other plans. I became a proud college dropout when I returned home to have my son, who’s now 26 years old.
God later showed me that I didn’t need a college degree to fulfill His purpose for my life. Instead, my journey became an example for other young women, proving that success isn’t confined to a traditional path. While I’m an advocate for entrepreneurship, I also support and celebrate those who pursue degrees for their career goals. I’m a very proud mother of a college grad. My son graduated college with a B.A. in Mass Communications. That was his choice and I fully supported it. As for me, my path led back to Atlanta in 2001, where I entered the Managed Healthcare industry employed by one of the nations largest Health Insurance Company’s and began building a stable life for my son. I worked for that company for 14 years, was laid off twice but the last layoff in 2024 was the one that launched me into the sea of entrepreneurship. Things went great for a while but when business got slow I had to go back into corporate and became a parallelprenuer. I worked a job while building businesses. This life I’ve lived has been an interesting journey. Going back to 2001…It wasn’t easy—there were challenges, heartbreaks, and failures. But each obstacle prepared me for the work I do today. I’ve experienced divorce, single motherhood, layoffs, being a struggling business owner, emotional rollercoasters, debt, and setbacks that made me question why God chose me to help so many others. Over time, I realized that our struggles are rarely about us—and primarily about our purpose. God showed me that purpose is about serving others, making their lives better, and winning souls. Embracing that calling, I’ve learned to see challenges as tools for growth and resilience.
Fast forward to now: I’m the CEO of Nameica Enterprises LLC, specializing in personal development and content creation services, where I use my gifts of speaking and writing to create wealth, The Author of Girl, Affirm YourSelf! 90 Days to Owning Your Fabulous Devotional book and the Founder of Girl, Affirm YourSelf! Inc. Through programs like The Confident Woman Era Cohort and initiatives like the D.A.D.Y. Movement Mentorship Program for mothers and daughters of absentee fathers, and my newly added division, The Real Empty Nester Moms In The City, I empower visionary women of faith in leadership, business, and ministry to overcome spiritual, emotional, and professional barriers and live a life of freedom and abundance.
My work isn’t just a job—it’s a ministry.
This journey has been nothing short of transformative. From my beginnings in Wilcox County to leading empowerment brunches, workshops, and events across the nation, I’ve seen firsthand how God can turn even the toughest seasons into testimonies of His grace. My story is a testament to His power, purpose, and the beauty of a life lived boldly and authentically.
So, if there’s one thing I want women to take away from my journey, it’s this: No matter where you’re from, what you’ve been through, or how many times you’ve fallen, you can rise. Your purpose is waiting, and it’s worth every challenge to fulfill it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth road? What is that? Girl, lead me to that road fast! Does that road even exist? LOL! Far from it. It has been way far out from smooth. To be honest it still isn’t smooth. My journey has been filled with some daunting challenges, but I’ve learned that the tough seasons often pave the way for growth, resilience, and purpose. I wrote a devotional in my book Girl, Affirm YourSelf! entitled Graced For It. God has graced each one of us to handle situations that would take others OUT! That’s why I’m a firm believer that we should never want to walk in anyone else shoes.
One of the most difficult seasons of my life was navigating what I call “married single motherhood.” I married at 27, expecting a partnership where we would build a lovely life and raise a family together. Instead, the reality was a toxic abusive relationship where I felt emotionally and physically alone. The worst experience any wife could have is having a husband who is there but not there. Though married I was doing all the important things alone. It was the most depleting time of my life. I carried the weight of raising my children, being the financially responsible spouse, managing our home, and supporting others around me—all while trying to run after my dreams. That season was overwhelming, but it prepared me for what came next.
When that marriage ended, I spent about two years as a single mother. While divorce brought its own set of challenges, it became a season of clarity and rediscovery. I threw myself wholeheartedly into raising my children, supporting their dreams, and sacrificing my needs and desires to meet their needs. Their father wasn’t involved or providing for them, which meant I had to step up in every way imaginable. It was tough for all of us—adjusting to a very different lifestyle from what we were used to. I had to make hard choices, often neglecting my own needs to ensure my children had what they needed, even if it wasn’t everything they wanted.
Despite the sacrifices, I made a conscious decision not to put my dreams on hold. I didn’t want my children to see me as a mom who lost herself while raising them, nor did I want to live vicariously through them. Instead, I prayed for God’s guidance and asked Him to show me how to be a living example of perseverance and faith. By staying committed to my entrepreneurial journey, I showed them firsthand what it looks like to work hard, push through challenges, and chase purpose even when the odds are against you.
I hope that through the ups and downs, my children saw a woman who refused to give up—someone who didn’t let life’s difficulties define her or deter her from her goals. My prayer is that my courage and tenacity will serve as a constant reminder to them that they, too, can overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. This experience taught me that while the sacrifices of motherhood are great, the legacy of resilience and determination we leave for our children is even greater. Those years taught me what it meant to stand on my own two feet, even when the road felt uncertain.
Then came a plot twist—love again. I remarried, Mr. C, as I call him, and stepped into a new chapter as a wife again while still being a mom, businesswoman, and confidant. Balancing all of these roles—wife, mother, entrepreneur, prayer warrior, emotional support system, and encourager—is a constant juggling act. Some days, I feel like I’m wearing every hat in the world. But this time around, I’m armed with more wisdom, grace, and determination to make it all work.
Living this multifaceted life isn’t easy. There are days when I pour so much into others that I have little left for myself. Guess what? I stopped doing that! Now, I make sure my cup is full and I give from my overflow. I’ve learned to prioritize my own well-being, even if it’s as simple as stealing a quiet moment to pray, journal, or just breathe. And through it all, I lean on my faith. God has shown me time and again that His grace is sufficient and that the challenges I face are tools to refine me for His purpose.
I’ve come to embrace the messiness of my journey because it’s through the struggles that I’ve discovered my strength. The mess is how God gets the messages out of me to the people assigned to me. Whether it was surviving a toxic marriage, navigating single motherhood, or growing a business from the ground up, every experience has shaped me into the woman I am today. I’ve learned that my story isn’t just for me—it’s for every woman out there who feels like she’s drowning under the weight of her responsibilities. My purpose is to remind her that she’s not alone, and that even in the chaos, she’s capable of thriving through. I say through because it’s not designed for us to stay in it. We go from one dimension to another and each has it’s own mess.
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The bumps and bruises have taught me resilience, given me purpose, and prepared me to help others rise from the ashes. I’ve come to see that the most meaningful journeys are the ones that challenge us to grow, to trust God, and to step boldly and confidently into our calling.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Thank you for asking! Let me tell you about Nameica Enterprises LLC and Girl, Affirm YourSelf! Inc., two branches of my heart and soul, where purpose meets passion.
At Nameica Enterprises LLC, I specialize in personal development and content creation services designed for visionary women of faith in leadership, business, and ministry. What do I do? Simply put, I help women Soar. Whether it’s through crafting compelling content like speeches, blogs, websites, e-mail, or social media or providing transformational consulting services, my goal is to equip women to show up as the best versions of themselves. I specialize in helping women identify their God-given gifts, build the confidence to walk in them, and develop strategies to monetize their gifts. From ghostwriting books to leading workshops, to hosting empowerment and networking events, I create tools that empower women to live boldly, authentically, and confidently.
Girl, Affirm YourSelf! Inc. is the heartbeat of everything I do. It’s a social organization founded to empower visionary women of faith navigating roles in leadership, business, or ministry. The organization is built on four impactful pillars: sisterhood, support, service, and success. Through empowerment events, mentorship programs, luxury travel retreats, and lavish networking opportunities, I offer spiritual, personal, and professional development for women who are ready to walk in their purpose unapologetically.
What sets us apart? Two things: authenticity and faith. I’m not just about empowering women to reach their goals—I’m about helping them heal, grow, and thrive holistically. Whether you’re attending one of my monthly meetups, tuning into my Confident Conversations Live Broadcasts on social media, or joining our 12-week “Confident Woman Era” Cohort, you’ll experience a community where transformation starts from the inside out. I’m not just focused on temporary fixes; I’m about lifelong transformation, advancement, and elevation.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the impact I’ve made. I recall the days in my childhood when I used to play make-believe. I used to pretend that I was an insurance lady, walking around in high heels, playing dress up, I had a briefcase, and I played in the mirror in my grandmother’s makeup. I used to write plans and agendas on a tablet pretending that I had a “girls’ clubhouse.” All of those dreams have come true but at that time I was too young to understand what a visionary was and had no clue that God was showing me THEN the life I’d live NOW.
From launching the 66 Chic apparel line, speaking on stages across the land, empowering visionary women through Girl, Affirm YourSelf!, and mentoring daughters of absentee fathers through the D.A.D.Y. Movement to celebrating confidence and character rooted in faith, everything I do is designed to serve others. I take pride in seeing women I’ve worked with thrive, whether it’s securing their dream job, publishing their first book, or finally overcoming emotional barriers and achieving success.
What I want readers to know is this: My brand is about you, the visionary woman of faith. It’s about your growth, your healing, and your journey to becoming the woman God called you to be. Whether you’re a mom juggling it all, a ministry leader feeling the shift, a woman in corporate trying to determine your next chapter, or an entrepreneur struggling to find balance, I have resources, coaching, and events tailored to meet your needs. I’ve been where you are, and I want to walk alongside you as you embrace your God-given greatness. I want to do for you what many other great women have done for me.
I’m not just a brand; I’m a movement of empowered women changing lives, starting with our own. So, if you’re ready to step into the next dimension of your purpose, come join us. There’s more than enough space for you in the room.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Let me keep it simple. Authenticity.
“Authenticity – it’s not just a buzzword for me, it’s the core of my being. As someone who’s spent two decades empowering women to step into their power, I’ve learned that true transformation only happens when we dare to be genuinely ourselves. My journey as a Fatherless Daughter Advocate taught me that our struggles and stories aren’t obstacles to success – they’re stepping stones to our purpose. When I show up authentically in my work, sharing both my victories and vulnerabilities, it gives other women permission to do the same. This authenticity has been the foundation of connecting with and transforming nearly 1,000 women through my programs. Because here’s the truth: people don’t just follow your success, they follow your truth. That’s why whether I’m leading a Goal Getting workshop or speaking at an empowerment event, I bring my whole self to the table – faith, experiences, and all. When you’re real, you’re relatable, and when you’re relatable, you can create real change.”
