Exploring Life & Business with Mesita Partridge of Events by Mesita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mesita Partridge

Hi Mesita, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I wanted to start a business to build a legacy for my family. More than anything, I loved the thought of working for myself, and it has definitely paid off. My career began in 2006 at the Convention Center, where I managed events for up to 30,000 people at a time. It was there that I discovered my passion for event planning and realized I had a gift for managing logistics and creating memorable experiences.

In 2015, I decided to take a leap of faith and launch Events by Mesita. I wanted to bring my expertise and vision to a more personal level, working closely with clients to bring their dreams to life. Over the years, I’ve grown my business from small social gatherings to high-profile events, including weddings, corporate functions, and even celebrity clients. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely not been smooth, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. When I started, I had to learn how to wear many hats—planner, marketer, accountant, and everything in between. Balancing my work with family life was also a challenge, especially as my business grew.

One of the toughest moments was navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many in the events industry, we had to pivot quickly, rescheduling events and finding new ways to serve our clients. It taught me resilience and the importance of flexibility in business. While the struggles were real, they helped me become the businesswoman I am today.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud of the legacy I’m building—not just for my family but for my community. Events by Mesita has grown into more than a business; it’s a brand that people trust with some of the most important moments in their lives.

What sets me apart is my ability to handle pressure and manage all the moving parts of an event with ease. My background in logistics taught me to approach challenges methodically, and I’ve dealt with issues far more complex than a late vendor or a missing centerpiece. Clients often comment on how calm I remain under pressure, and that’s something I take pride in—it allows them to enjoy their day without stress.

I’m also proud of the relationships I’ve built with clients, vendors, and my team. At Events by Mesita, we create experiences that are not just beautiful but deeply personal and meaningful.

Events by Mesita specializes in crafting unforgettable weddings, social events, corporate gatherings, and stunning floral designs. We take pride in delivering seamless, stress-free experiences tailored to each client’s unique vision. With a portfolio that includes celebrity and high-profile political clients, our meticulous attention to detail ensures every event becomes a lasting memory. At Events by Mesita, we merge passion and precision to create extraordinary moments you’ll cherish forever.

Any big plans?
In the immediate future, I’m looking forward to celebrating Events by Mesita’s 10th anniversary in September 2025—it’s a major milestone that I want to honor in a big way!

Beyond that, I’m focusing on growing the new party rental and product division of the business, The Party Vault. It’s a natural extension of what we do and allows us to offer even more options to our clients. I’m also expanding our reach through workshops and webinars for Black women in the wedding and events industry, creating a space for connection, learning, and empowerment.

Personally, I want to continue growing as an entrepreneur and exploring opportunities to share my story and expertise, whether through speaking engagements, content creation, or mentorship.
