Today we’d like to introduce you to Cayla McDaniel
Hi Cayla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Cayla McDaniel, I am the owner of The CayWay. I have always enjoyed doing hair, even as a child. I would attempt to dye my dolls hair and would always try new styles. When I began my own loc journey I became more interested in the process. I began my research on hair growth and the different techniques.My brother in law would allow me to practice the techniques on him and of course I was my first client. I kept practicing until I mastered the art of locs. Then me being the perfectionist that I am. I wanted to master the art of styling. Now in present day I can look at a picture of a style that my client wants and I am able to replicate it. I also educate my clients on the importance of healthy hair and using healthy products to nurture their hair growth through their loc journey. I added a twist to my service becoming a traveling loctician in Atlanta and its surrounding areas. My clients get their personal stylist to come to them and give them A CayWay experience. In starting this business I also have learned more about how to market , customer service/ satisfaction, and business management. My clients have posted their testimonials on my different social media platforms to show their appreciation. I love what I do and I’m excited to see what 2025 will bring to The CayWay.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, Some of the challenges when starting my business only a few months in I was involved a bad accident which ended in my wrist being broken. I also had a challenge with opening my home based salon.

I am a traveling Loctician in Atlanta and surrounding areas.I’m known for my clean parting and detail styling. The feed back I get from my clients makes me proud.
