Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Posey
Hi Paul, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Today I am a Photographer, Author, and Facilitator. They all intertwine into my overarching goal of being a part of the solution for our cultural problems within our families. I have created a nonprofit in the support of Men’s and Veterans mental health. Negative to Positive Inc, or NEG2POS in short, it had been 6yrs in the planning. We launched the Change Agent program in August of 2024, and it is gaining ground, men from ages 16 up to 65 have contributed in healthy dialog and input in the conversations that need to had amoungst men and dads of tomorrow. As a Disabled Retired Marine, my heart goes out to those who have worn the uniforms for our country and I know what most have gone through in their time as a servicemember and what is like to transition back to be a civilian. I recreated the Rally Point program to help those who have trouble transitioning and have not fully commited to getting clinical help or who just feel isolated. It all started from wanting to have a cool licinse plate on my car….
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest struggle was my own mental health. From 2009 to 2016 I struggled getting help, I told the VA I had issues, but they weren’t addressed at the level I felt they needed to be. I went through a divorce and isolation from my family, struggling with relationships, until day I snapped. So in 2016 I sought help outside of the VA to help me find myself and I did. from October to Jan 2023 was a struggle.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a G O A L Digger
As a professional photographer, I have accelerated in my field. My work has made it to cover of three magazines and several billboards, I’m also the Media Director of a nonprofit inthe support of transitioning servicemembers. ETS.org
As an Author, I have published 15 works. Three books are currently on virtual shelves as I last checked, Walmart, Target, Books-a-Million, Barnes and Nobles, Good Reads and Amazon
As a facilitator, I have layer my skills to ensure I am well rounded and effective. Life coach, Anger Management Specialist, Mental Health First Aider, Intense Therapy since Oct 2016 to date. I host workshops for Men, the youth and Veterans to help grow into who they want to be in their families and the roles they desire to fill.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Patience and preparation
Patience is doing something positive while you are wating for things to manifest.
Prepartion, I’ve learned to do everything on my end to prepare for the windows of oppotunity when they appear. It truly has wokred in my favor.
I also learned I do not control anything when others are a part of the process…. but with patience and preration, things look like they were plannned the whole time.
