Exploring Life & Business with Claudine Miles of Restore More

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudine Miles

Hi Claudine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sure! My journey really starts with my love for education, equity, and my deep belief in the power of community. I began my career as a classroom teacher, where I quickly realized that while academics are essential, students thrive when they feel seen, valued, and safe. That insight sparked my passion for integrating social-emotional learning, wellness, and restorative practices into education. After years of teaching, I moved into leadership roles, working to create school cultures where both students and educators could truly flourish. But I started to see a larger need—systemic inequities that couldn’t be solved within the walls of one school alone. That realization led me to step out and found an educational consulting firm focused on Restorative Practices, Anti-Racism, Social-Emotional Learning, and Wellness.
Now, I spend my days partnering with schools and universities, districts, and organizations to create environments where everyone—especially Black and brown students—can thrive. It’s been a journey of learning, evolving, and staying committed to ensuring that education centers humanity, justice, and joy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting a business with very little formal business knowledge was a challenge from day one. I knew I had the passion and the skills to help schools and communities, but building a business—figuring out the finances, scaling the work, and learning how to navigate entrepreneurship—was a steep learning curve. There were plenty of moments where I doubted myself, wondering if I could really do this. Finding my footing and confidence as a founder was another hurdle. It’s one thing to know your work has value, but it’s another to fully step into that role of leadership and trust yourself to guide others. That took time, self-reflection, and a lot of support from my community.

On top of that, being a voice for Anti-Racism and equity in a world that often feels tense and resistant has been both rewarding and heavy. These conversations are critical, but they’re not easy. Sometimes it feels like you’re pushing against a tide, trying to help people and systems embrace necessary change. And its emotional work—it requires vulnerability, courage, and resilience, especially when the resistance comes from unexpected places. Through all of that, I’ve learned so much about perseverance, about leaning into my purpose, and about trusting the process. The struggles have made the work even more meaningful, and they’ve shaped me into the leader I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our work is all about helping schools, organizations, and communities create environments where equity, wellness, and authentic relationships are at the forefront. We offer four core training packages that include six workshops focused on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Anti-Racism (AR), Restorative Practices (RP), or Wellness. These workshops are designed to build capacity, deepen understanding, and empower participants to create lasting change.

We’re also proud to offer a range of tools and resources to support this work. For example, we’ve developed our Circle Kit Curriculum—a powerful guide to help schools and organizations implement restorative practices through circles. We’ve even created online courses to teach folks how to run circles effectively, giving them practical, accessible training at their own pace.

One of the things that sets us apart is our ability to create a culturally responsive curricula tailored to the unique needs of our clients. We know that one size doesn’t fit all, and we take the time to ensure our work reflects and uplifts the identities and experiences of the people we serve.

Another important part of what we do is supporting the Criminal Justice System by using Restorative Practices as a tool for diversion. This work allows us to provide meaningful, community-centered alternatives that reduce harm and foster accountability in ways that traditional systems often cannot.

What makes us unique as a brand is our unwavering commitment to centering humanity, equity, and joy in everything we do. We’re not just here to check a box—we’re here to create transformative, sustainable change. One of the things we’re most proud of is the trust and relationships we’ve built with our clients. People know that when they work with us, they’re getting authenticity, care, and expertise that go beyond the surface.
