Inspiring Conversations with Ensie Durin of Highly Hers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ensie Durin

Hi Ensie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey started with a personal struggle—finding stylish, well-fitting clothing as a tall woman has always been a challenge. Shopping felt frustrating, with most stores offering only a small, uninspired section for tall women or forcing us to shop online, where prices were high and sizing was inconsistent. I knew I wasn’t alone in this struggle, and that’s when I realized there was a real gap in the fashion industry that needed to be filled.

I decided to turn that frustration into a solution. My vision was to create a dedicated space where tall women could find clothing made specifically for them—without limitations. But beyond just clothes, I wanted to build a community where tall women could feel seen, celebrated, and confident in their everyday lives.

Now, I’m working on opening the first physical store in Atlanta exclusively for tall women, offering stylish, size-inclusive pieces that make them feel empowered. This isn’t just about fashion—it’s about representation, confidence, and creating a movement that allows tall women to embrace their height with pride. I’m so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to see this vision come to life!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but every challenge has made this journey even more rewarding. One of the biggest struggles has been doing everything from scratch—from designing and creating the clothes myself to building a business with little to no blueprint for a physical store catering to tall women. Since the fashion industry hasn’t prioritized us, I’ve had to be resourceful in crafting pieces that are both stylish and truly fit our proportions.

Another challenge has been educating people on why this is so necessary. Many don’t realize how limited the options are for tall women, so I’ve had to not only create the solution but also bring awareness to the problem.

Funding has also been a hurdle because launching a business—especially a physical retail space—takes significant investment. But despite these challenges, the response from the tall community has been incredible. Every time a tall woman tells me how much this means to her, it reminds me why I started.

This journey is about more than just clothing—it’s about changing the narrative, increasing visibility, and ensuring that tall women finally have a place where they feel seen and celebrated. The road hasn’t been easy, but the vision keeps me going, and I know this is just the beginning!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is all about creating a space where tall women feel seen, celebrated, and stylish. I specialize in designing fashion-forward, well-fitting clothing made exclusively for tall women, something that has been missing in the industry for far too long. Instead of settling for small sections in mainstream stores or overpriced online options, tall women now have a dedicated place to shop where everything is made with them in mind.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just sell clothes—I create them. Every piece is thoughtfully designed to complement tall proportions while reflecting personal style. This isn’t just about length—it’s about proper fit, flattering silhouettes, and clothing that makes tall women feel confident in their everyday lives.

I’m most proud that this will be the first physical store in Atlanta dedicated entirely to tall women. This store will not only offer stylish, size-inclusive clothing but will also serve as a hub for community, empowerment, and connection. From styling events to meetups, I want this space to be a place where tall women feel like they truly belong.

For anyone who has ever struggled to find clothes that fit both their body and their style, I want them to know: this is for you. I’m here to make sure tall women feel unstoppable—because we deserve it.

How do you think about luck?
I believe luck plays a role, but preparation, persistence, and purpose matter more. There have been moments of bad luck, like struggling to secure funding or facing setbacks while trying to bring my vision to life. But each challenge has pushed me to become more resourceful, determined, and creative.

On the flip side, I’ve had moments of good luck—meeting the right people at the right time, receiving unexpected opportunities, and connecting with an incredible community of tall women who truly believe in this mission. But even those moments wouldn’t have mattered if I wasn’t prepared to take action when the opportunities came.

Ultimately, I don’t rely on luck—I create my own path. Whether things go smoothly or obstacles arise, I stay focused on my vision: building a brand and space where tall women feel empowered, stylish, and seen
