Daily Inspiration: Meet Queen Canada

Today we’d like to introduce you to Queen Canada

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello I’m a woman from a small city in va. My dreams was just always bigger than where i was from. My first time visiting atl i said i will be moving here. I have been here now going on 3 years. I originally moved here because of my modeling agency I was signed to . Over time i start really branching off to all my talents. I am a plus size model and plus size fashion influencer. I start digging deep into being a content creator and thats like my biggest goal. To be a succesful content creator and stylist here in atl. I am a single mother of 3 so it can be hard maintaining sometimes but i try not to make it an excuse. I really have a passion for fashion and i want to grow so much more in that world. I have started making a name for myself here in Atl. I always tell people that I use my clothes to talk for me because im lowkey shy lol. Others say i come off as me but im really a girls girl just be scared to say something first. I tell people all the time i am a piece of art work. Everytime i got out or to an event i am messing my room up. I be in here playing dress up. Sometimes i try on clothes and ill call my kids in to tell me how they feel about my outfit. So i started from nothing . I was that kid that didn’t have it all growing up . So when i got to the point to where i could really live in the fashion world how i want to . I must say i really be putting them clothes on. I still have so much more ideas and goals to reach my big goals in the content and fashion world. I have a great support team and im so thankful for that. My photographers which is also my bestie is the reason i have to that leap of faith in the fashion world. So make sure you keep your eyes open because Queen really goin for her big one

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Ohhhh no a smooth road no not at all. I will be honest my biggest obstacle is depression . I have battled with that since i was a kid but i managed it better as i got older., i will say these past couple of years depression has really been trying to take over. Im a fighter so i will always when . I do feel like some days it try to take me down. When I have my days i dont want to get up . Like as i am typing this now . Told it tried to take over but I got out the bed to push to be great. Another thing is money money makes the world go around. So sometimes we feel like we can’t get something done because everything cost. I tell myself stop making it excuses and use the sources that you have in font of you.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
So i do work for Cheesecake Factory in the bakery department. That’s really the main source of income but it’s not where i wanna be for the rest of my life. Aside of that i am a content creator , creative director/pose coach and i am an upcoming stylist. I do take a lot of pride in all those things. I also work for a magazine called becoming her . I am the stylist and creative director . Love making clothes for myself but i want to start making pieces for others. I am very knowing for being a content creator and a fashion stylist. I am most proud of how much i put myself out there to network . I stop being so scared at how people look at me . What makes sets me apart from others i would say i like to wears things others wouldn’t wear. I have a very unique personality. People say my life is like a reality show.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Take it risk ouuuwee baby i do that a lot in my life now . Moving to ga was a risk alone with no family here. Also what i will say my biggest risk last year was when my bestie called and was like i need you to come to this shoot and style this woman for me. Now the crazy part is had to go straight after i got off work and i had no idea what i was walking into i was super scared . This was my first time taking a leap of faith being a stylist and creative director for someone other than myself lol. Crazy part the pictures turnt out amazing and by the middle of the shoot i found i was working with a celebrity which was a big blessing for me . After the shoot i was super proud of my work and after that i been taking off. Like I said i now work for the magazine that that put that shoot together. Now i have worked with 3 published magazines. Taking risk are important to be succesful.
