Meet Orlan Rose of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Orlan Rose

Hi Orlan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Me and my wife Dana, whom I met in the restaurant industry, had a dream to own a patch of land where we could host dinners, sometimes themed dinners to tell our story. We wanted to have a farm and an experiment room all on the land for the dinners. We named our business Penny patch after our first dog together Pennywise, whom has passed since. So to raise money, we’ve been catering events, doing local pop ups and cookouts, and doing weddings. We will be in more events this year continuing our story together.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. We officially started this in 2020, the biggest obstacles I guess would be the constant price changes. We want to make incredible dishes as affordable as possible, especially when we’re cooking in home for people. So we work with most budgets.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have the catering company Penny Patch with my wife, and because I also do promo for local entertainment including us, I’m usually busy editing and making our videos.
I have a YouTube show called BINGE BOYS
where we document our visits to restaurants all over. I do the shooting and editing.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
We started hiking in 2020, and because of our hunger and love for food, Me and my wife learned how to forage for mushrooms and herbs properly. ha! we also love to go fishing together.
