Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a child, I struggled with expressing my emotions, but music became an outlet that helped me find my voice. Later, as an adult working in education, I noticed that many children had similar challenges in expressing their emotions. That’s when I created A Time to Create, LLC in 2017—a company dedicated to teaching youth how to express their feelings and emotions. Giving them a safe space to experience emotional healing while building confidence and personal development skills.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, and at times, it’s been pretty intimidating. As someone with introverted tendencies, promoting my business and reaching out to schools or organizations for partnership opportunities can be challenging because it requires me to step outside my comfort zone. However, through prayer, reading the Bible, and encouragement from my church community, I’ve been able to push through those struggles. This journey has not only helped me grow as an individual but has also opened doors to incredible opportunities for which I am truly grateful.

A Time to Create is dedicated to helping K-12 students express their feelings and emotions through songwriting. We offer self-expression songwriting classes, workshops, summer camps, and virtual programs—all designed to create a safe space where students can use music to express themselves. I specialize in using songwriting as a tool to help youth identify, understand, and communicate their emotions.
My goal is to guide students toward emotional healing, providing a healthy alternative to bottling up their feelings or expressing them in harmful ways. I’m incredibly proud of the program’s impact: 99% of students completed it, 95% overcame their fear of public speaking, and 95% gained more confidence in self-expression.

Any big plans?
My plans for the future include continuing to partner with schools and organizations to provide our self-expression songwriting programs to students throughout Georgia. Additionally, I’m working on completing a songwriting app for kids that will offer children nationwide a creative outlet to express themselves. This app will also give parents, educators, and therapists the tools they need to support and meet the needs of each child.
