Hello, my name is Itzel B López. I embraced entrepreneurship from a young age, greatly influenced by my single entrepreneur mother who instilled in me the values and skills needed to succeed in the business world. As a child, I actively participated in all her ventures, absorbing knowledge and experience like a sponge.
Our journey took a significant turn when my mother made the bold decision to uproot our lives and start afresh in the United States, specifically Georgia. At just 8 years old, I found myself in a new country, unfamiliar language, and uncertain future. Despite the challenges, my mother’s courage and determination inspired me to persevere.
From humble beginnings, we navigated the tumultuous waters of the salon industry, with my mother always at the forefront, leading by example. Her tireless efforts and willingness to seize opportunities led us to acquire a small salon in 2011. It was a pivotal moment when my mother entrusted me with a significant role in managing the business, a responsibility I embraced wholeheartedly.
While honing my skills in hairstyling, I also delved into various aspects of business, including sales, marketing, and human behavior. Feeling the weight of the long hours demanded by the salon, I sought to diversify my income streams. Following my mother’s advice of not settling for a comfortable job, I ventured into the world of online reselling with just $20 and a ticket to a reseller conference.
Against the naysayers’ odds, I quickly rose to become a top seller in my first 30 days, turning a modest investment into a thriving venture generating $80,000 within six months. Juggling between the salon and my burgeoning online business presented challenges, but I navigated through, harnessing the skills passed down by my mother.
As fate would have it, 2020 brought unforeseen changes, leading me to a crossroads where I saw an opportunity to rescue my mother’s struggling salon business. Offering to partner with her and implement a new strategy focused on social media and multicultural appeal, we embarked on a revitalization journey that transformed the business.
Through this transformative process, I found a mentor in a Hollywood actor and successful businessman who guided me towards self-mastery and holistic success. He emphasized the importance of faith, self-care, and financial wellness, reshaping my perspectives and empowering me to steer our business towards new heights.

The year began with the abrupt shutdown, thrusting my mother’s business into a financial crisis. Faced with a critical decision, I had to choose between revamping her business or focusing on my online reselling venture. Recognizing the need to prioritize, I decided to invest my efforts in growing a salon business, a choice that required a significant financial commitment.
As I navigated the complexities of establishing and refining salon operations, tragedy struck with the sudden loss of my father at the onset of the pandemic. His guidance had been a cornerstone of my entrepreneurial path, and his absence was deeply felt. Amid personal grief, I had to maintain a steadfast focus on sustaining the salon through turbulent times.
Adding to the challenges, 2020 marked the end of a significant six-year relationship, leaving me to navigate personal upheaval while steering a business through tumultuous waters. The adversity peaked when my trusted friend and coworker chose to depart, taking a substantial portion of the salon’s clientele. This betrayal tested my resolve, forcing me to confront the harsh realities of business and interpersonal relationships.
Despite the overwhelming adversities faced in 2020, I clung to a steadfast belief that brighter days lay ahead. The year, though tumultuous, served as a crucible that forged my resilience and determination. If 2020 did not break me, I am confident that I am equipped to overcome any challenge that comes my way.
