Hi Sheila Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been one of resilience, reinvention, and purpose. I started my career in sales and marketing, working with some of the most recognized brands, but I always knew I wanted to create something bigger—something that truly made an impact.
Over the years, I’ve built businesses that empower others, from launching leadership and career development programs to helping entrepreneurs secure government contracts. But my work isn’t just about business—it’s about transformation.
One of the most defining moments in my journey was writing my book UnBroken. It’s a deeply personal story about overcoming adversity, standing in your truth, and redefining success on your own terms. Through my platform, I now help others find their voice, build their brands, and step into their greatness.
Today, whether I’m speaking on stage, mentoring business owners, or expanding my ventures, my mission remains the same: to equip, inspire, and create opportunities for people to win—both in business and in life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been anything but smooth, but every challenge has shaped me into the woman I am today. Entrepreneurship and leadership come with their own set of obstacles—moments of uncertainty, financial risks, and the weight of making decisions that impact not just myself but the people who depend on me.
One of my biggest struggles was learning how to navigate spaces where I wasn’t always welcomed or understood. As a Black woman in business, I’ve had to break through barriers, prove my worth, and build my own table when doors didn’t open. There were times when I had to start over, pivot, or push through moments of self-doubt.
But what I’ve learned is that resilience is everything. Every setback was a setup for a greater comeback. I refused to let struggles define me—instead, I used them as fuel to grow, evolve, and help others do the same. My journey is proof that you can face challenges head-on and still come out winning.

My work is a fusion of business strategy, leadership development, and personal empowerment, designed to help entrepreneurs and business professionals thrive. I am honored to serve as the Board Chairwoman of Helping Healthcare Professionals (HHCP) and as a mentor for prestigious organizations such as the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, NMSDC, and NBMBAA.
What I’m most proud of is the transformational impact of my story and work, which I share in my book, UnBroken. Through its pages, I recount my journey of resilience—from personal tragedy to becoming a trailblazer in business, mentorship, and leadership development. The book continues to inspire countless readers to rise above adversity and pursue their purpose with unwavering determination.
This dedication to service earned me the Presidential Lifetime Service Award, a testament to my ongoing commitment to helping businesses and individuals grow, thrive, and lead with resilience.

I don’t just provide strategies—I help create actionable, sustainable pathways to success. We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was when my godmother would travel just to pick me up. The effort she made and the element of surprise made me feel truly special and deeply cherished.
