Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanesha Cager
Hi Tanesha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My career journey started in the classroom, where I dedicated 13 years to shaping young minds and instilling a love for learning in Atlanta and in the Middle East. My passion for education and fascination with technology inspired me to transition into the role of an Instructional Technology Coach. In this capacity, I have played a pivotal role in incorporating technology into the curriculum, guiding both educators and students to embrace the digital era with proficiency and assurance.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was definitely a tough journey. Growing up in Atlanta with roots in Compton meant that I was constantly navigating two very different worlds. My mother struggled with addiction, and my father had five other children, which made my upbringing quite unstable. However, my grandmother, Lera Fisher, was my anchor. She took me in and provided the love and stability that I needed. Losing her to colon cancer in 2008 was a devastating blow, but her strength and love continue to inspire me every day.
Despite these challenges, I learned the value of resilience and the importance of education. My grandmother’s unwavering support and belief in me gave me the foundation to pursue my dreams and overcome the obstacles in my path. Her legacy is a testament to the power of love and determination, and it drives me to help others achieve their full potential, no matter their beginnings.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My innovative drive doesn’t end at being an Instructional Technology Coach. I am also the founder of the revolutionary Fishing Cognition App, aimed at boosting cognitive skills through fun and interactive exercises. This app is set to launch early 2026 and will transform the landscape of cognitive development, offering accessibility and enjoyment for users across all age groups. By merging my knowledge in education and technology, I strive to create a valuable resource for enhancing mental acuity and learning made fun.
Apart from my professional successes, I also take pride in being a devoted mother who values the significance of managing both career and family life. My unwavering dedication to my children aligns with my passion for empowering others to reach their maximum capacities. I am a staunch supporter of cognitive literacy and critical thinking abilities, asserting that these are vital skills necessary for thriving in the modern era.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The next 5-10 years in the education and technology sectors are poised for significant transformation. I see a future where artificial intelligence (AI) and personalized learning become even more integral to our educational systems. AI will continue to revolutionize how we teach and learn, offering tailored educational experiences that meet the unique needs of each student. Additionally, the rise of virtual and augmented reality will create immersive learning environments that make education more engaging and effective.
Another major trend will be the increased focus on cognitive and financial literacy. As the world becomes more complex, equipping individuals with these essential skills will be crucial. I hope that by 2035, my initiatives, including the Fishing Cognition App and Ivey Green Taxes, will be flourishing and making a significant impact on people’s lives.
However, achieving these goals requires substantial support. Seed funding is essential for turning innovative ideas into reality. I am actively seeking investors who recognize the value of my work and are willing to support these endeavors. Ultimately, my greatest aspiration is to make my daughters, Lera and Reese, proud. Their pride in my achievements is the most meaningful measure of success for me.
